Should Foe Requiem's bonus damage be contributed to a bard?

just assume thats all your dps, like nin can assume TA bonus is their dps, the real important thing in a nutshell is how fast that bosses hp bar melts. Things like foes and ta are factored in for job balance, and as people said a smelting pro bard will deal some sick dps, a smelting any dps thats skilled will deal good dps in general. Parsers prove very little when it comes to circumstances, so stop worrying so much about personal numbers. Also damage per second is tricky. I love BLM because i can see whenever my spells hit significantly enough, but per second, it isnt as great as the boss bar makes it look like in reality, its just that blm hits hard very hard, fast, not so much.

Well, foe requiem is part of the brd utility toolkit and as such it's certainly taken into account when evaluating tha job as a whole. The problem is that understanding by how much you're boosting your caster's dps may be quite hard. The same argument applies for nin's trick attack or mch's hypercharge. At the end of the day, what you really need to look at is how you are doing in raw dps numbers when compared with other players using the same job since you can assume that other bards are using their foe requiem more or less efficiently.

No, parsing is to show you how your group is doing. If you're "competing" with your fellow dps, just don't Foes for the epeen stroke I guess? You probably should just try harder.

He doesn't want foes to buff the bard damage... he wants parsers to contribute the extra dmg mages do to the bard.

As a NIN, I just recently started to step it up again with my dps. The thing I don't like is that many parsers (as people told me) only tracks my initial hit of an attack that deals a Dot (Shadowfang, for example).

That's not true. Parsers simulate DoT damage, since the actual ticks are not written as text log in game. But it does consider them.

Truthfully I dont understand what the OP wants, because there really are no support classes anymore. It seems like almost every class has suppose skills these days, so bard certainly aint unique there.

It's to my knowledge that the support tag is describing the MP/TP regen qualities. Silly yes.
