My response to you was simply my stance that it should be disallowed based on language reasons (servers are split into region and languages for ease of access.) The rest was direct towards the OP.

Is 'senpai' really a confusing word to people though? It's practically a joke at this point on the internet. Even if you don't know Japanese you recognise words that are (for lack of a better word) mocked;
I mean, look at words like senpai and sempai, kawaii and desu. Basic internet access would lead you to knowing instantly what these words mean simply because people use them a lot. I wouldn't expect anyone to understand complex Japanese or romanji though, obviously. I think when it comes to the game mocking or referencing well known memes a language barrier isn't so much of an issue then.

That being said... Soon as they let them have senpai people would be begging for more stupid words like kawaii to be a fore-title, etc. Like, fuck that shit. Japanese as a culture and language is already mocked enough, lol. Then again, we're playing a Japanese game with a largely anime/Japan-favouring player-base, I'm not remotely surprised that people are begging for Japanese related titles, etc.

This is more my point. It sets the precedent for anything to be changed, and why just stop at mostly well known Japanese words? Though to this day I still meet people who don't know what words like Senpai mean, despite playing Asian games.

Really? That's just painful ignorance to me, or maybe an uninteresting in learning about the culture you seem to enjoy. Like, I love Japanese culture (not so much their politics or beliefs, or even how they treat women) but I enjoy learning about their country, as I do most cultures. It seems a shame / waste when someone just simply likes something just because. >_>

Not really, most of them just play those games on English servers but aren't into anime/ manga. I only learnt them myself because my art style had attracted those types and I had to refer to urban dictionary to decipher what they were saying to me. I can see how they'd have never been exposed to it.
