Not to play devils advocate but I work in France, and I don't speak French, I deal with major security risks daily from my clients advising them on how to keep their computers secure, and yet I still had one of my gaming accounts hacked, and I also play Final Fantasy XIV, but I am not a dragon.

Doesn't make much difference what your experience is alot of the time, as sometimes things just happen.

But the lag thing from the video could be a combination of client to server latency, or could just be a bug, can't really know till the developers tell us the cause. Crappy situation to be in

The game relies on server side decision making for pretty much everything, you can see it clearly if you dual box a character. You can literally be moving for 5-10 seconds before you will see it move on your other characters screen.

Basically the client says OMG FIRE IM OUT OF IT!!! but the server goes "I don't think so, according to the data I got 10 seconds ago from an event taking place right now, I see you still in it, so FLAME ON MOTHER HUBBARDS!". It is a fatal flaw with server side decision making in the current engine, however they are working on removing alot of it, and is only in place to prevent exploitation (tele hacking etc). Sadly over years and years of people dying to find exploits in everything in MMo's, the games now need to be designed around clunky security systems (Warden, VAS, PlayOnline etc) so we kind of only have our fellow players to blame

I'm not saying they should have made the fight any different, in fact I said I enjoy this fight, but it is a fact that once you know the tactic the only thing preventing you from win is server lag and that's annoying.

Glasses jas nothing to do with it. I lag more in uldah than in the ifrit fight. 59 out of 60 fps is soooo annoying

Technical knowledge is one of the things i got enough of thank you. Why would i lie? Just so idiots would say stuff like this? the animation lag comes because it takes more of your computer than it got. The latency will almost never come in instances. Or do you lag in toto-rak to maybe?
