Between Squall and Lightning, I'd be down for a gunblade job. Lorewise, it would make perfect sense for it to a Garlean based job.
So yeah, gunblades![]()

Well i don't expect people to all love it just because it is a Gunblade Job. People like different things but ya with how FF14 has shoved the Gunblade weapon into the game's lore and story so many times already it will be almost insulting to just leave it as a Cutscene exclusive weapon for the entire game's life.
That still means 2 more **** years or more before the Gunblade Job can be released or at least considered to be released into FF14 because Yoshi-P already hinted there is already a plan for a Garlean Empire Expansion as a future expansion. However, what it would contain remains still in production so really no real promises for a actual Gunblade Job yet despite the countless teases in the game.

Already was said that not until we get into Garlemald proper. Though that was over a year ago and plans change. Nice thing is that if the next expansion is about liberating Ala Mhigo, then that's just a hop skip and a jump over to Garlemald. That and I doubt the Empire is going to be ok with their foothold into Eorzea been taken back.
I kind of expect 5.0 to be the Garlean Empire Expansion considering Yoshi-P said that he is saving Doom Train as something involving the Garlean Empire storyline. *cough* Final boss of 4.X era to access the Garlean Empire expansion areas*cough*Already was said that not until we get into Garlemald proper. Hey, even if it doesn't come into fruition during 4.X, i'll still be happy to see it in 5.0! So 2 years is fine, as long as it's implemented eventually right? lolWell i don't expect people to all love it just because it is a Gunblade Job. Crosses fingers* ...Only time will tell. D=Already was said that not until we get into Garlemald proper. Though that was over a year ago and plans change. Well, hopefully the next expansion is less about 'liberating' Ala Mhigo and more about forging peaceful ties with Garlemald and eliminating with the rot that exists on both sides of the conflict. It's not as if the Ala Mhigans are presented as often being pleasant, sane or rational individuals. If an either bigger threat than Garlemald emerges - which is likely given Ascian manipulation - I'd rather see a gunblade job added when we work along Garleans that aren't just defectors. Give us Garleans inspired by the likes of Gabranth, Larsa and Drace instead who are still loyal to their homeland and people.
Most likely it will be in 5.0 when we actually invade the empire (or the other way around). I would love the class, been waiting for it since 1.0...but now isn't the best time for it.

5.0 for gunblade and it will be called the Empire strikes back
