    I actually made a concept for it a while back, calling it "Grenadier", having it in BRD/MCH gear with a bazooka as the weapon, and providing a stance that turned all your basic attacks into heals (Potion Shells) and a stance that empowered your basic attack damage at higher cost (Mortar Shells).

    That was job concept #4 out of what is now 17 and counting.....

    Squall Gunblader

    So in FFVIII (as far as I played it) Squall was able to slash *and* fire his gun if you pressed the button at the right time. So I was thinking a gunblade class would have ogcds revolving around firing your gun, and in the end a gcd would be used to reload.

    Of course I haven't put much more thought than that into it...but it'd be cool

    Also Blue Mage tank ftw

    Gunblade class would be cool..

    We really lack two-handed dps jobs. Samurai could be our next one but if it's a tank then we will have 4 tanks with e using 2-handed weapons and only 1 dps(DRG)

    Why I'm more of the mindset that Samurai will be a DPS job, not a tank. Probably something that uses some small hits in order to line up one massive strike (>400).

    "What would be the tank then" you ask? Well I'm sure at least one dev has managed to figure out that a job doesn't need plate armor to be a tank....

    Happy to see that we are getting RDM and Samurai in StormBlood.

    Be great to see a Job that uses a Chain with a spiked ball attached to it what that Job could do is another question lol.

    I'm really happy for RDM and Samurai.

    Now I thought of Puppetmaster and Necromancer as there is undead and puppet within the game. It sounds logical to me that someone in this world know about theses arts

    I would like to see the idea of the Mystic Knight (Owl)/ Necromancer (Voidsent familiar, ect) re- imagined as a Scythe using DPS that has a pet not unlike DRG of FFXI. Where as the SMN/ SCH support and command their pet the Mystic Knight/ Necromancer is able to either let their pet do all of the attacking while they support the party /debuff the the mobs, conversely they can choose to to go melee and have the pet hang back, buff the Mystic Knight/ Necromancers attacks (heavy melee DPS, light Tank). I think this would allow for a class/ job that can change up they way it is played depending on the enemy numbers, party composition, ect. Also it would give the players the option of a lightly armored robe combination aesthetic, speed like attacker wielding a giant Scythe. Whats not to like?

    Use non-combat actions to bait and tame a monster (only specific monsters can be tamed). Maybe actions would involve "luring" and "trapping" the creature.
    The tamed monster is then added to your own breeding/raising instanced area. (Maybe tie this with the island thing)
    You can then use shepherd-specific actions tied to its own "minigame" like interface where you "gather" skin/fur/bone from the monster.
    You always get a minimum amount, but you can increase quality and amount depending on how well you do it/what actions you use.

    You can have a max amount of X monsters and gathering from them is time-gated. So it would take between 1~X Eorzean days before they're reset for gathering again. The minimum and maximum amount you get per turn would have to compensate the wait.

    This would make the process of getting material for leather, hide, etc, less reliant on having lv80+ players wandering around lower level areas wiping everything leaving nothing to whatever random low level player is questing. It's either that or retainers atm.
