My guess regaring long hairstyle would be clipping, i'm sure they want to add some, but it needs more work than a short one to avoid clipping issues, remerber the long hairstyle that goes throught some dresse's hood ?
Some games have ingenious ways to deal with it, changeing your haistyle with a bun for instance but players will propably don't like it :/
