Okay, you can petition SE for a higher per-month cost then, I'll keep being content to pay a cheap flat fee for the game every month, and a CS transaction here and there for something I really really want, and not paying a dime for something I don't.The point in going with a subscription game rather than a F2P game is that it is ALL included. And yes, we do want to pay a higher per month cost rather than piecemeal costs. That's part of why we're on a game that already has us doing exactly that, paying $15 a month rather than the $0 that so many other games charge. That's an extra $15 every month for the sake of not having extras cost extra. If extras still cost extra anyway like they do in F2P games, then we're paying $15 a month for nothing.

You certainly have an interesting perspective, but I definitely agree with Niwashi.
As an aside, the term cheap is relative, and relative to its competitors FFXIV is the most expensive cost (tied with wow with an option for 12.99 vs wow option to pay with gold). How are you coming to the conclusion that it's cheap, when it is literally the most expensive?
I think SE should just remove it from the game with the reasoning "Some forum members have expressed unhappiness that they had to pay for this item so to prevent hurt feelings, we're removing it from the game".
I'd pay to watch the fallout from that.
Wow people will find anything to cry about. If you don't like it, DON'T BUY IT, if you think it's expensive then DON'T BUY IT. No one is putting a gun to your head and telling you to spend your hard earn cash on it.

Because for $15 you get a pretty impressive array of content, at a fairly reasonable rate of time (patches are what, a couple months apart?) Compare that to your "cheap" option of paying WoW gold for your sub, which, for a year+ prior to Legion's release, got you fuck all for content, so... yeah, that's kind of a wash. You certainly have an interesting perspective, but I definitely agree with Niwashi.

Obviously that's subjective, and I'm sure there's plenty of people who would disagree that the content offered in FFXIV is "impressive" but hey, can't please everyone all the time.

That aside, people are providing feedback. Chill
I think objectively, WoD and Heavensward put out very similar amounts of content. Most of Warlords content was front loaded. WoD had way more raid bosses, for example.Because for $15 you get a pretty impressive array of content, at a fairly reasonable rate of time (patches are what, a couple months apart?) $15 is a decent price tag, and one I do not mind paying for both games. That said, that subscription is paid with the expectation that all content is included. There are plenty of other B2P and F2P games with lots of content that are free monthly. (http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm)

Differernce between luxuries and necessities. How can 18$ be a reasonable price for a digital item ? oO I don't know about how americans manage there money so maybe for them 18$ is the price of, i don't know, a pack of pasta ? but here, 13.50€....you can eat for a couple of days with that oO
Sadly it will continue to grow considering the amount of player that beggs SE to had things in this instead of in game, i d'ont get why people pay a sub if it's to have everything without playing it oO
18.00 USD isn't terrible considering it's a cosmetic and optional item; I bought one because it fit within my "I buy stupid stuff in video games" budget.

At one point there were many on the forums that asked for items and said they would pay for them, thus the cash shop model was introduced to FFXIV. Some here continued to say they would pay for items if SE would release them, and so more items were added. While it was not every person who plays (obviously), people got what they asked for. They continue to get what they ask for, if they are willing to pay as some say they are. This is not a new concept and SE/FFXIV are not the only P2P game that does it. On WoW 10$ for a pet, $25 for a mount, 15$ just for a glamour head piece.
If it didn't work then the game industry wouldn't do it. It works, so they do. If I find interest in it and I feel it's worth the money (and I have it) I'll buy it. If I don't think it's worth what they are asking then I don't and just let it go.

I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.
What the....its character based? Are you freaking kidding me? People threw their toys from the pram over the cost of the twin seat moogle, but that was account wide at least. For $18 for a fingle outfit, account wide should be an absolute. If it were character only I'd have expected $10 or less for the outfit.
I mean granted, I play my alts a tiny fraction of the time I play Kos, but still, for $18 it damn well should be account wide.
