    In terms of data, the same items with different colors are treated as different items, so it is difficult to add additional colors

    Didn't their "Eorzea / making of a realm" promotional video elaborate for 10 minutes on how easy-peasy it was to recolor and modify gear? Are they now telling us: "Yes, it's easy to *make* new gear, but you'll never see it implemented because of the data load!" ?!?

    Like I said before, none of them. They should disregard any temporary fixes and focus on what they are trying to push out of 1.20-1.21
    This. It's a beta anyway, so no need to temp-fix the beta if it delays the substantially improved product. For a few months, I can live with my pink gaiters.

    To me it sounds like the way the game handles gear is that the texture and color is "baked" on. They can easily create new gear but the game as it is right now probably treats "Blue hat X" as its own item, whereas in order for freeform dying and customization to happen they have to rework the way the game works so that it treats it as "Hat X" and applies blue to it.

    Uh.. that might be a little confusing but hopefully you get what i mean.
