They started to get lame/cheap with it anyway. 1080 -> 1440 days is 360 days, a year in between a reward. $120 @ legacy and $180 at normal payments.

The rest of the stuff probably ended up as fanfest ticket/stream rewards, merchandise bundles or cash shop.

Yoshi actually already confirmed that they are working on a replacement system. If I were to guess they'll likely have some kind of special NPC merchant that sells veteran rewards for a currency that you earn each month instead of having fixed rewards. This way newer players can get the rewards they specifically want whilst long-term vets will simply have everything.

Shame, if they were going the route of adding items based on Final Fantasy characters of games passed, I'd love to see what else they could have given players, I've still not reached Cloud's Fenrir outfit yet. I think that's the 1 year one? or 2.

Hopefully the newer system allows for some flexibility. I think a currency that can be traded would be best. This may allow them to start adding the female versions of previous FF characters gear. At the moment with veteran rewards, and the way that you can change your gender at any point in time - they have to select things that can be unisex - and something like Yuna's outfit, or Rinoa's outfit, or Aeris' outfit, ect are not exactly unisex. I know the male playerbase is wanting to be able to wear female glamours also, but there are some males who arn't interested in wearing a bright blue Rinoa dress - so if that was your forced 1 year veteran reward, it would be pretty pointless for you.

A newer currency based system would be fair for newer players, and flexibility with existing players who may only be interested in bardings, or only interested in housing items, ect, and allow for greater flexibility in what they put up for rewards.

I'm also disappointed with the removal of it as it was always something to look forward to.

Maybe they should instead of having outfits everyone wanted/complained about instead have functional things like 1 free retainer each X years or whatever.

Perhaps they're going to something like XI now does with login campaigns and rewards or something (sorry I'm not very familiar with it, but as I understand it you accrue points or something for each day you login which you can trade it or something?)
