Hm, I guess they don't—there was another part of the trailer where they seemed to have full textures to my eye though. Either way though given the narrative angle they're really supposed to just be energy so I'm not particularly bothered. The PotD weapons are actually some of my favorites recently as I really like models with unique and even over the top glows.

Yeah. Being lazy is okay if you can shove in a lore reason for it, amirite? The game looks PS3 tier on PC because the WoL actually has really bad vision.

Diversity is a bad thing right? Its a different look. There isn't anything wrong with that. If we can have Moogle weapons we can have glowy energy weapons. Just cause the design doesn't appeal to you doesn't make it have no value. I can think of several, well textured pieces of gear I think look awful.

The game looks fine to me on PC.

If you don't like them, you'll be happy to know the game has a great deal of alternative options you can glamour your weapon to look like.

The base model probably is, the red glowy texture (and probably the swirly effect it seems to have) aren't.

Well yes there is......

Your issue is they are untextured. By definition a weapon of pure energy wouldn't have textures. That would make it look to solid. There are people out there who like the weapon made of solid light look just as there are people out there who asked for the male bunny suit. You not liking it doesn't diminish that.

Fortunately you can always glamour the weapon to a look you do like.

I definitely did. In terms of weapon models, the absolute high point has been the Nexus weapons for me. I love over the top "light weapon" styles, so PotD has been right up my alley so far. I'm not as excited about the 51-100 weapons at the moment since they're all red, but I'll need to see them in game before I pass judgement, since the glows never really look right in previews and the like.
