See for me that always proc'd when everyone had full hp.
WHM is gone from endgame almost. Unless they up the AoE damage output from bosses that AST can't cover with a SCH or split the party up so that the extra 5 yalms on Medica II are needed, there's no point in bringing a WHM now over Diurnal. WHM's safety net is just far inferior to what Diurnal can bring now.Just delete WHM from the game now, SE. It brings nothing viable to the endgame now.
- Far superior support with even better tools to control the RNG
- Party wide buffs with the equivalent of Medica II range
- Disgusting mana recovery and healing potency up duration
At least you'll still be able to clear the content without too much difficulty.
You seem to basically be unhappy with the change to the Benefic II proc. Like the level with which you are unhappy about that is blowing my mind.
The Instant Benefic proc wasn't great. It always popped for me when people were full or I already had Lightspeed on.
You'll see it when you actually play with the new numbers and compare Diurnal with Nocturnal.Yes, I loved it. I played AST 50% for the buffs and 50% for the instant second-tier heal. And sorry to disappoint you but I did competitive content as AST, so appearently I am not part of those "pretty much everyone".
I'm more surprised all those competitive healers appearently didn't know how to utilize the instant cast..^^°
I currently can see no reason to keep playing Diurnal AST. And if all I'm allowed to play as is Noct AST again, I might as well stop playing it since I do not enjoy shielding.
Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I won't try and stop you if you enjoy the changes, but I certainly don't, because they take everything I love about the class away and replace it with things I hate.
In contrast, getting an insta cast heal is useless if you were planning on precasting the heal so that it would heal more damage taken by the tank during the cast.

Hey you can be unhappy with the change but you are basically saying you are ditching the class because of that which is insane. Both have pros and cons. Neither break the class.
What is wrong with that? I'm not saying the class is broken now (if anything, maybe too good now, actually).
I'm just saying they took the things away that I liked and based on some quick math we did in my FC, the new playstyle won't be anything I enjoy anymore either.
So I do not welcome these changes, just like many BRDs didn't welcome WM becoming a thing (despite it not changing much objectively because even before, BRD didn't have to move too much, it just COULD).
Well, the insta-cast just eliminated the need to precast the heal. You can use that casttime to cast something else, upping your Dmg Output and throw the insta-cast heal out at the same time the DMG hits and the result ends up being the same, just with one more spell weaved in.
The "playstyle" of that random instant cast being removed? That's made you give up the class? Oh well. *facepalms*What is wrong with that? I'm not saying the class is broken now (if anything, maybe too good now, actually).
