Las Vegas law dictates the hotel is responsible for anything in your hotel room. So do not worry as much about things in your room, if they have some kind of "front desk hold on to important valuables" use it and get some sort of slip or paper recording this transaction, this will make them liable for whatever they might steal or lose.
