Yes I know a lot of people want SAM as Tank I do too. As for weapons One handed Axe Or Maces. like in FF3. As to what they would be doing in Ala Mhigo I could not say but it would be the same as lore wise for SAM what would they be doing there. Yes the name was used on the gear... However there is a mob named Viking mammet it has a one handed axe and shield.

Most likely either duel 1 hand axes, hand axe + shield or a 2-handed war hammer. Possibly use a fury system similar to warriors in WoW only the angrier you are the more damage you deal/less you receive... maybe at 100% you have a red flame effect on your character for some kind of berserker rage.

If Stormblood is really the title to the expansion, Viking is possible. From Tactics A2, Viking was a lightning-elemental axe user. I could see them going more of the Thor route and using a Hammer though. Would also be interesting to see another tank class that used one-handed weaponry, maybe just have them piggyback off PLD shields or they could base their shields around the more traditional large round shields. Could also make for an interesting visual change to stances.

Their shield stance could have them hold the shield closer to the body for more defense while their "Berserker" stance could forfeit the shield in favor of damage and increased lightning potency to attacks.

Dunno what you're pointing out here. If you meant to @ "one handed axes" then that's not the same as WAR since we just have one giant axe. If you meant WAR = Viking, then nah - WAR actually originated further out from Limsa in the mountains and we basically just helped the helpless.
