If you're crafting then why the heck are you buying crafting gear? Kind of defeating the purpose there.

Maybe because it's locked behind specialists? You know you can have only three... but I was talking about the instance when a non-crafter would start crafting. Some people make their gil by other means than crafting. Or maybe they just need pentamelded gear for raiding. etc.

Unless if you're doing it at the early point of a patch to earn hundreds of millions back in return. In which case... well, you're at the point where you don't even need gil anymore.

Unless you are not a full-time crafter. Personally I make enough to buy stuff and have left enough gil to give it away... yet I have no where enough gil to pay for max crafting melds.

Also, if you're spending that much on melding, you're doing it wrong.
