SE remove the obligation to do the main story q to get lvl 60 skills.
It is clear to long and should not needed if i start a 2nd Char on the same account.

This game is designed with no incentive or requirement to have alts, so I feel the game should not be designed to accommodate them in this way (or at least such drastic changes should not be acknowledged). You can level every job to max level, and you can use fantasias and server transfers if you want a new race/server, or you can just start up a new character and go through all of the new character stuff, but that experience should not be tailored to you as someone who has already done it.
One thing that I think about on this issue though is how they will give out Heavensward skills in Ala Mhigo to people who did not purchase Heavensward, because they have said that Heavensward is not a requirement for Ala Mhigo, and currently the jobs core rotations are made from Heavensward skills (and they can't balance rotations between people having HW skills and people not without making HW skills useless).
...if you ignore the specialist system and desynthesis as well as weekly caps (both casual and raid) that prevent you from progressing multiple jobs after hitting the level cap simultaneously as well as the GC restrictions for PvP coupled with the switch timeout that can prevent you or your friends from having both, your GC of choice and the ability to play with your friends (Let's not even speak of RP...).
I see quite a few incentives right there (and even a requirement if you want to be a self-sufficient crafter). People already pay considerably more monthly just to be allowed more characters - as such, services to accommodate them should be included. If you're paying over 10% more than a person who doesn't have alts, then hell yes you should be accommodated - you can use the extra money you gain from those subs as dedicated pool for resource allocation (And don't even DARE spouting the lie that it would all be eaten up by server capacity cost).
And as for fantasia - it finally needs to include a name change as well.
Ishgard hates foreigners. Just cause they know you on one character, doesn't mean you can waltz up to their gates on another and say let me in! hehehe
Tbh I think they will solve this like WoW does by having only the latest expansion(s) being required to buy, and not by making the HS content not required to move into the next expansion. It makes a lot of sense to make players only having to buy the game + one expansion when starting the game.
Learn, explore, and think for yourself. Make your choices, take actions, and let yourself be free.
agree with op
the game most certainly IS designed to have alts or else we wouldnt be able to have 8 characters/server. they would only allow 1.
I would play all my 7 alts far more if this feature was in place, i am interested only in the max lv stuff not the journey over and over and overrrrrrr again. Many love that and thats excellent, but for those that dont, a fast track should be in place. Let us choose. Until that day, all 7 will sit at lv 1-14![]()
♥ MORE HIGH HEELS + INSTANCED HOUSING! ♥!
The main story requirement keeps the bots and cheaters out of HW. If we did the OPs recommedation then RMT and botters would get one character in to HW then use that account as a springboard to push alts where they are not wanted.
I am pretty new to game (6 mos) and when I found out there was no inventory, mail, etc sharing with alts, I never leveled my black mage and will not at this point. My gatherers and almost all crafters are 60 so I just play with them and my bard period.
As a new player I can already see that my biggest hurdle to getting to where my friends are is going to be the main story quest. I'm not sure I'm a fan of that decision.
Thankfully the dev team have addressed this, and while they cannot fix what has already been done, they are working to make sure that future content does not fall into this trap (one you beat 3.0 you can do all content, none is locked behind future 3.x except the 3.3 EX)
