Are the maps "desing" being remade or the entire "areas"

Holy cow!!! This is amazing. Ill get some pics and videos to remember the old zones. Is everything changing or just certain areas? I also imagine that the current location of the toto-rak will change and be moved etc? The place and location of quests will change? Am i right on this?

Should be everything. They've shown glimpses of changes for The Black Shroud and Thanalan already, but we should get more details in the next Live Producer's Letter.

Not sure if they're touching the cities themselves or not, though.

LoL... just take one screen shot of each zone if you feel it necessary... they copy pasta'd so much you only have to walk about 10 feet to "see the whole zone".

The story leading up to the map revamp (among other things) has been building up for a while now, actually. Hear anything about the coming 7th Umbral Era? Have you looked up at the moon lately? Yeah, shit's a comin' our way.

Yes.. i jsut did one of the quests where they mention teh 7th umbral era. But the moon, you say i need to look at the moon on eorzea or you are saying that it is being mentioned?

That's a while the moon look awful. Dalamud, the second moon of eorzea is turned red, has been mentioned in ifrit quest too. And Cid is speaking of a meteor :X

Yeah, take a look up at the moon in game, and you should see what I mean.

Perfect chance to implement some Guild Wars-style phasing transition from Old to New Eorzea and make things seem interesting. It would seriously suck for new players to miss the whole "world was chillin', then BOOM! This happened" thing.

Could be a nice thing, however it woul'd be pratical. It literally split the population in two, the one in the new maps and another on the old zones. On the basis of what then ? A quest ?
