I remember at one of the first places DRK was really showed off (that castle event somewhere in Europe) it was reported that Sole Survivor could be used on party members. I was so excited for the ability to give my friends the mark of shame.
Plz SE.

The real question comes to what benefit would DRK have by placing Sole Survivor on himself? Living Dead still needs to be healed up within 10s, and the current ability for placing it on enemies is A LOT easier than trying to Mercy Stroke. If it had to have another use in DRK's Toolkit, what would it be?
The challenges of DRK are mainly Attaining and Keeping Aggro(as goes with generally playing any tank), and MP/TP Management. It makes it considerably harder to master once you obtain Dark Arts, which opens up a lot of avenues for your own utility(i.e. +30% Magic Damage reduction Dark Arts Dark Mind) and Dark Arts Souleater. However, managing MP is probably the hardest part of the class. What I would think Sole Survivor could do is possibly reduce a small amount of Dark Arts' MP Cost on the next application to Souleater, C&S, etc. so that you can use Dark Arts a bit more often when needed since MP can go pretty fast if you're using it for Dark Arts DPS most of the time.
..Though that's just my opinion and idea. I'm open to criticism if you have it.

Maybe they think that if you're not healed and Walking Dead wears off, your death will give you back 20% of your HP max...I guess...The real question comes to what benefit would DRK have by placing Sole Survivor on himself? I personally was along the lines of you pop both at the same time, and once your walking dead your "dead", which automatically gives you a chunk of HP back to help the healers.
Its a great skill on paper, but it'd be nice if it that extra bit. Like it got the PVP trait, or if it actually popped off you got the CD reduced.
My hero, you can soul survivor me any time ;D

Tossing it on the slow guy who can't dodge AoEs during Titan Ex would be advantageous. I approve of this.

Except that living dead doesn't allow your HP to drop to 0, thus preventing Sole Survivor to activate.
That would be OP though. It would cheese tankbusters in a similar way to Holmgang, and DRK already has Living Dead as an invulnerability move. As an aside...
SS cast on a target OTHER than self:
- Returns HP/MP when target dies.
- Returns HP/MP when target transitions from Living to Walking Dead. (ie: DRK casts SS on another DRK)
SS cast on self:
- Returns HP/MP when target (self) transitions from Living Dead to Walking Dead. Purpose: To help healers top you off. (Slight buff)
- Will NOT replenish HP/MP if KO'd. (ie: Sole purpose is to aid healers in topping you off after the Living Dead > Walking Dead transition).

wrong.
walking dead is the effect wich doesn't allow your HP to drop to 0.
but to activate walking dead you actually have to die under the effect of living dead. and because you died you could activate the effect from sole surviver.
