*nods*I don't mind wearing something revealing as long as it still fits how I want my character to be seen. Like a previous picture I have on here with the thavarian dress. I wear that with Ast. and I feel it fits the job well. I do occasionally wear a swimsuit but that's usually outside my house since I live in the mist. Beach and swimwear just go togetherIt depends on my job and/or what I'm doing. Kinda like dressing up for the part.
Most of the time tho it's like this picture that I do. Shows some skin, gives a bit of softer side without being overly sexualized. I use this when I'm crafting. I craft massively so I may as well look nice while I spend hours at a time doing this.
I will note that I am a female player. I enjoy looking elegant while at the same time being able to be fierce.
Since the thread has drifted down this topic of what we wear, how do you (the forum goers) feel about things like changing hair and eye color to go with a particular outfit? Is it too much? Also, what factors do you consider when crafting a new outfit?
I've tried changing my character's hair color and style to go with an outfit, but went back to the original after like 2 hours. I'm attached to the hairstyle and color more than any outfit really. I think eye color changing is a bit extreme since that's $10; unless you're an Au Ra and have a neutral eye color and take advantage of the limbal ring editing. Working around your preset character design is usually my method rather than changing the character. Y'know?
For outfits I prefer things that aren't too flashy or over the top and don't accentuate the elezen neck. My character is meant to be an older man so I try to keep that in mind as well. Since MCH shares most equipment with BRD these requirements leave me with a grand total of like...2 outfits to choose from...。゚( ´□`)゚。
I'm spoiled by KR MMOs having a lot of casual realistic clothes;;
Awwww... /comfort。゚( ´□`)゚。
I know your pain. You get an idea for a glamor in your head and it's like all you get are drops and rewards in a totally different style.
Ever get to feeling the designers are against you when you get Biluad recolor #4896 and the last thing you want to look like is some prissy court official? Ha!
FWIW, Ginko*, I like your outfit. It presents the image of a professional and suits your character well. In another thread, we should talk "how to" fashion.
*Nice name. One of my favorite trees.

So... what makes an attractive character attractive? Is it simply in the eye in the beholder or is it brought about by choosing specific combination of traits? What do you think? Please post a picture of a character, not necessarily yours, and offer your thoughts on why you feel they are attractive.•

Changing hair is not only not too much, it is sometimes necessary to prevent clipping. If you're talking just hair color then this isn't a big deal either. I passed by a gorgeous Elezen the other day who's hair color matched her dress color and she just looked amazing. Kicking my own butt for not snapping that one. Eye color might be too much considering that you need a fantasia potion. I'll easily pay the 2000 gil multiple times per day to change something to match, but a 10 dollar fantasia is where I draw my own line.
For me, the job determines the outfit along with my character's personality which is an extension of my own. You will NEVER find me tanking in a bikini, or in a dress when playing NIN. I do like to kick butt while looking good doing it as long as the outfit makes sense. I save the fancy outfits like dresses for when I am city bound or at the gold saucer.
I do confess though that I have glammed my Spriggan cap more times than I can remember. It's too adorable not to!
Sometimes in my opinion animations have alot to do with it as well. Like, purely in appearance highlander girls are really pretty to me, for example. However, their running animation where they just sort of goose step everywhere... kills it for me a little.
I've considered changing hair style to match a glamour, but I could never bring myself to do it.
I got my character spot on when I made her, and to change how she looks just feels "wrong"
Well personally I can't change my hair in real life whenever I want a new outfit (whether I want to or not) so I feel it's unnecessary.
I've never changed my character's hair color and I've only had.... 5 hair styles over the course of two years of playing. (This last one is FOREVER unless they somehow release an even better Pony Tail Braid for Men [tm] down the line then we'll see... probably not).
New outfits for me start with "ah shit that piece of glam is REALLY nice" and I go from there. Honestly I don't change my glams too much; I found my official bard HW outfit when the Sky Pirate set came out and I haven't changed it since then (the outfit in my avatar...yep) Usually when a new patch comes out I do look at all the new stuff and see if I should update; this last patch my ninja changed (My friend and I were running Sohr Khai and I said if I won the turban on a roll I'd dress up as the prince of persia...and well)
I also have a hard time with tank glamours since...I don't care for heavy armor...

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME
Back when Balipu was still a mi'qote girl instead of the Au Ra guy i once changed my hairstyle because I was invited to an FC member's wedding. I picked an outfit and a hair I figured would fit the celebration more. I changed it back after the party was done, but still.

Traits I like are high cheek bones, thicker lips and some color to the skin. I don't know why but pale skin just doesn't look good to me. If we're out in the sun adventuring all the time why look like we've been stuck inside all our lives? Also a trait I carry with each character I make is having teal eyes. Love the color blue and green mixed together.*Activating Lalamaticautomatic Thread Re-Railer Mk V* 3, 2, 1... KER-FREAKING-RANG!!!

Lemme leave this here since I need to edit this post. I am gay so yeah, gay pride!
For hair I dislike long hair, mostly because I prefer to be able to tell both genders apart. (This morning I thought a girl walked into the classroom, turns out they were a guy with long hair and a somewhat feminine body type.) For noses, basically I don't like when they're huge with huge nostrils. I prefer them to be somewhat slender. When it comes to cheeks, as long as they're not too puffy I'm fine with it, I also prefer jaws that stick out a little more instead of sort of "meld" with the face. With mouths, yet again as long as they're not too puffy, I dunno why but I hate huge lips.
Eyes are meh as long as they're not at a slanted angle. (I prefer blue and green eyes, mostly cuz I like bright colors)
Facial hair for me is a big NO! Sorry, but I'm a germaphobe and I find it disgusting that food and fecal matter gets trapped in beards and other facial hair. If anything a lack of facial hair or some minor stubble means to me that the guy cares about his personal hygiene enough to shave.
Also, I chose Miqo'te because I was looking for more of a cute character than an attractive one. Well, by cute I mean I want to grab my character's tail because I like how it's constantly reacting in sync to my character during certain actions, as well as the ears, but anyways, yeah.
This is kind of an unusual topic. Anyways some gay guys prefer less masculine guys, some prefer burly guys. I'm part of the former. I'm not too concerned about looks except in cutscenes, where I prefer to look like more of a story protagonist than an adventurer. (I actually alternate between glamours for the top piece, but I'm really adamant on the shorts. Though you can't see them in the screenshot. (I like legs, so yeah.)
