Why can't they just do an Amazon promotion like the U.S. got? Many people don't buy gamesmaster any more, and not everyone is on O2 =/

Did not mean the new items like the barding but more that it seems that they also just get the butler outfit. ^^; If they can buy those in their mog station, than this would be quite mean to us, imo.
[And even if some things are stripped from their game like some monsters or if they get some patches later they still can play it (they do have the gold saucer)..maybe giving them one exclusive thing would be enough, like that recolored behemoth mount? They get more and more exclusive items that seem to be created by SE them self (the other thread has pictures about the creation of the mount)..and they are some nice items too.]

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Too many US players conned Amazon by ordering things then cancelling as soon as the electronic codes came through. Effectively Amazon got nothing out of it, other than stock issues & potential costs. If I was Amazon I'd have immediately reconsidered any future promotions for FFXIV of that type.
Did Amazon post something where they said that they got nothing out of it? If not, how can we say that it was bad for them? I mean I know that some people cheated on this, but I am quite sure that this was the minority. And lets not forget that anyone that ordered only to cancel later never would have bought something without the promotion. So amazon would have never gotten their money anyway. And people cancel their preorders for more reason all the time, so it should not be such a uncommon situation for amazon too. (People cancel and send things back on a regular basis so it probably did not truly hurt them) Yet there are a lot of other FF14 players that ordered something only for the codes and kept those items.Too many US players conned Amazon by ordering things then cancelling as soon as the electronic codes came through. Nobody knows if SE paid them money to send out these codes (seems likely for me) or if Amazon had to pay them (more unlikely for me).
Don't want to sound mean but if one does not have the proof that this was the reason or that this truly hurt them, than its sound more as a "Its the fault of the US players that we cant have nice things" and I find this wrong, even as a EU player myself.Maybe SE disliked what happened and choose other promotions thanks to that. But we can never know.
I cant truly write down what I thing about this and maybe what reasons they had since that would probably end up with my post deleted so I just say "SE employees are only humans and thus are also able to make mistakes". I just gave up any hope that after over 100 pages, we would get any comment from them...which in my opinion is quite sad..since we are all paying customers..
My last hope is that we will know soon what the other campaigns will be about and that maybe one of them is not restricted and limited...

That's a myth and pure speculation. Yes, some people abused the system but the promotion was designed with that in mind - and Amazon stood to make a profit regardless of the behaviour of those players. They've run many similar campaigns in the past with similar rules, regulations and loopholes so I doubt that FFXIV changed anything.Too many US players conned Amazon by ordering things then cancelling as soon as the electronic codes came through. Effectively Amazon got nothing out of it, other than stock issues & potential costs. If I was Amazon I'd have immediately reconsidered any future promotions for FFXIV of that type.
MMO's operating within Europe and particularly the UK, however, have a long track record of handling stuff in a clunky and bizarre manner. WoW inexplicably charges UK players more for digital purchases - including the monthly subscription - than it does people in most other countries. FFXIV did the same by bumping up the price of the 3.0 collector's edition for UK players and never elaborated as to why that was. Now, predictably, UK players get an especially clunky promotion that screwed us over and nothing has been done so far to remedy the mistakes made. There hasn't been an official reply to this thread in quite some time and even those we received early on seemed to avoid the core concerns being raised. Furthermore we didn't get a mention in the latest Live Letter to alleviate concerns either which leaves us with no choice but to keep this thread active and hope that someday we get a solution to this mess.

onsale 2 days? and already sold out..... good luck to anyone in the uk tryin to get these items gonna need it.....
I believe it's against the terms to 'resell' them.
I believe you can just give them away without problems...
I've certainly seen many code giveaways throught the promotions so far.

Looks like GamesMaster is sending out the codes for Original Fat Chocobo, got mine about half hour ago. If you're expecting one you might have one too! (Don't forget to check your junk/spam folder!)
