Naked women everywhere in Scarlet Blade, does that make the game for females only?
Naked women everywhere in Scarlet Blade, does that make the game for females only?

Wow, can't have a game that appeals to women?
OP, there's a reason other mmos have so few female fans where this one actually has a strong female player base. Is there some catering to accomplish this? Probably. The same way popular bars/clubs have lady's night and wave the cover fee or give a heavy discount to women. It isn't bias. It's smart marketing.
There are still more men who play this game than there are women, but a large number of women do play. If your nephews don't like the idea of playing or raiding with female gamers they should probably find something else to do.

First of all what is feminine... If we go by Wikipedia's article we get this:...now how would you come to describe something like a video game as such at all? .-.(Femininity) is a set of attributes, behaviors, and roles generally associated with girls and women.
While the defining characteristics of femininity are not universally identical, some patterns exist: gentleness, empathy, sensitivity, caring, sweetness, compassion, tolerance, nurturance, deference, and succorance are traits that have traditionally been cited as feminine.
If you try and look into it:
Past events:
So, yes, you could say that the recent events were feminine.
- Little Lady's; an event about a father trying to make amends for losing sight of his daughter. feminine
- Valentione's Day; event about bringing lovers together. feminine
- Heavensturn; an event about putting todlers to sleep with a fluffly sheep companion, helping people all around. feminine
- Starlight; an event about giving presents to children. feminine
- All Saints; I wasn't personally here for the event but from the description it doesn't seem feminine.
- more events...
Moving on to the next point:I don't quite understand this at all...In Western societies, skirts, dresses and high-heeled shoes are usually seen as women's clothing, while neckties are usually seen as men's clothing.
- There are options galore, also a lot was already covered.
What I personally think is, this game is more balanced, it doesn't get everything right and some things are just out of the developers zone of influence... but it provides a fairly even playground for each gender.
It might even seem 'shocking' to some young and already heavily biased minds...![]()

Yes thank god for the glamour system, the armor designs in XIV are just way too over the top feminine I think. I wish job specific gear had a more masculine look to it if you played a male, and of course feminine if you played a female.. Perfect example is the white mage gear.. As it is, the look is perfect for a female character.. On a male... Especially Galka, and Highlander.. It looks comical. The look for male, should have been closer to what it looked like in XI, that doublet looking thing. Everything is just too frilly.

It goes both ways. Most dainty girl characters look ridiculous in the WAR/ PLD sets.Yes thank god for the glamour system, the armor designs in XIV are just way too over the top feminine I think. Just screams he's all woman.

They should force players to dress more modestly. Nothing like seeing a nude male Roe with nothing but a leopard speedo on in a dungeon with 3 lalas.

A mentor stole my house, slapped me across the face, and raised my ping from 15 to 30. Literally unplayable.

I think its feminine, because all hairstyle and armour are made with female miqote as model, then changed to fit the other races+gender sizes. This is one of the reasons why robes look very good female miqote and the races that look very similiar like female au ra and hyur.

Little Lady's day is an event based on a real yearly day/festival in Japan: ひなまつり - Hinamatsuri traces its origins to a Heian period custom called hina-nagashi (雛流し?, lit. "doll floating"), in which straw hina dolls are set afloat on a boat and sent down a river to the sea, supposedly taking troubles or bad spirits with them. The Shimogamo Shrine (part of the Kamo Shrine complex in Kyoto) celebrates the Nagashi-bina by floating these dolls between the Takano and Kamo Rivers to pray for the safety of children. People have stopped doing this now because of fishermen catching the dolls in their nets. They now send them out to sea, and when the spectators are gone they take the boats out of the water and bring them back to the temple and burn them.
The customary drink for the festival is shirozake, a sake made from fermented rice. A colored hina-arare, bite-sized crackers flavored with sugar or soy sauce depending on the region, and hishimochi, a diamond-shaped colored rice cake, are served. Chirashizushi (sushi rice flavored with sugar, vinegar, topped with raw fish and a variety of ingredients) is often eaten. A salt-based soup called ushiojiru containing clams still in the shell is also served. Clam shells in food are deemed the symbol of a united and peaceful couple, because a pair of clam shells fits perfectly, and no pair but the original pair can do so.
Families generally start to display the dolls in February and take them down immediately after the festival. Superstition says that leaving the dolls past March 4 will result in a late marriage for the daughter.
