It wasn't an in-depth live letter, just an introduction to the coming patch with an overview of new content. I wouldn't take the omission of anything in the stream to mean it wasn't going to be in the patch. There'll be more details on coming features and content before the patch drops so they still have a chance to reveal the system then.

I never said that it is for certain NOT going to be in the patch, only saying that this live letter was an overview of what was coming in 3.4, including small things like getting 3 jumbo cacpot tickets. The fact that a feature anticipated by many was mysteriously absent has made me very wary that egi glamour might not be coming in 3.4. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but you should probably wait for confirmation before saying "egi glamour will be in 3.4 for certain".

I didn't say that you said that. I'm just saying that the omission isn't reason to think anything either way. The last we heard the first set of egi glamours were going to be in 3.4 for certain. We've heard nothing to suggest otherwise since then. The live letter largely covered things we had no idea were coming whilst detailing things we previously new little more than the name of. That the egi glamours got no coverage didn't surprise me as we already had a fair bit of information on them from the previous live letter.

I understand why you're wary but in the context of this live letter it didn't feel strange to me for the egi glamours to have been omitted. We'll see I guess...

Maybe it's me, but for me Carbuncle, Eos and Selene have a better looking than Ifrit, Titan and Garuda.
It's like it was realised by two different designers.
They should perhaps rework the design of his latter to be like the first one.
For the 4.0, if rework of summoner we have, it would be nice to have the Yuna style from Dissidia where for each attack, she summons brievly one invocation who do the attack for her.

For the 3.4, don't forget we should have had the famous rework of Diadem which was delayed (we will have just adjustements), so...egi glamour could have the same fate.
Because, normally the live letter for 3.4 part 1 should have presented all we will have in this patch, and there was no sign of egi.
So Egi-glamour for 3.45 ?

I would like more pets then we have now ^^ I think some diversity would be nice...and making the job more about the pet, since that is what we were told SMN was all about and we voted for in the 1.x player polls.

As it stands now this game still feels like it has no real pet class...and we are now...sigh, 3 years into the 2.0's lifespan

First, the answer is no, we probably won't because the HW story straight out says

the smn doesn't have enough aether in their bodies to summon anymore egis, period.

However I did want to address this:

What would other pets bring to the table that you don't already have?

Off the top of my head:

A "basic" aoe focused pet you can leave on sic for add fights or trash. (Leviathan?)

An "advanced" aoe focused pet that you need to put on Obey to maximize. (Ramuh?)

A new solo pet that generates less threat and has less survivability than Titan egi but more damage to compensate. (Ravana?)

A CC focused pet for PVP. (Shiva?)

A solo pet that can heal the Smn only but again, only for solo and wouldn't have near the potency of Eos or Selene. But something more useful for solo duties/solo FATEs since the summoner does the majority of the damage anyway. (Moggle mog? Sephirot? Sophia? New primal?

I've said this in another thread elsewhere that this is the 1st FF game in the entirety of the series that I have no interest in SMN in the slightest. and it really hurts to say that about one of my Favorite jobs.. it almost feels like they've taken something epic and reduced it to playing with poke'mon *sigh*

You're right, why can't we just press a button and watch a cutscene play out like in the older FF games! That would be way more fun!

Saying that it would be nice to have a pet you have more control over. Maybe with some abilities that use our gcds (since its pretty much our 3 dots and ruin that use our gcd at the moment anyway.)
