    Findable recipes-good idea?

I played WoW shortly recently and it reminded me of something-recipes you can find out in the world.

It would add some variation to crafters, not having everyone know the same things, and would add a way people who don't craft can make gil (by selling recipes to crafters collecting them). I think it would be cool.

They could even have recipes drop in raids, perhaps. Maybe not the savage ones, but like, as an example, the recipe for 220 gear could drop in midas.

Of course, we should still have the majority of crafts just in the log like now, but having extra recipes for good stuff that you can find would add some incentive to do other content I think. Just a thought I had.

well there are crafting books for when you get to higher end crafting, and the hell crafters have to go through to get them, the idea seems fine and fun from a way to make gil as a non crafter, but wait till you see the prices of that one item on the MB later lol.

I'd be ok with this for purely glamour recipes only.

Yeah, that's a little different though as it gives you every recipe in that category (and the blue scrip books are really easy to get so everyone has them anyway).

I just mean like a scroll you could find from a boss or something that would only have one recipe on it. Have several of those scattered throughout content, I think it'd be awesome.

This idea is not really any different than what already exists for crafting mats that only drop from those same bosses now.
Just look at the prices of the orchestration rolls faded and complete from content that is rarely run. Now, you want to add another layer of rarity on top of that.

Oh well, just another thing to increase the class division between hardcore and casual players.

    I really like this idea.
And it would be nice to have some recipes we could sell on MB and some we can't. We'd have to go in ourselves to get them.

I don't like the current method for getting recipe books. It's boring and monotonous.
Having findable recipes would add more excitement to crafting!

I agree with the glamours only-and youre right master books do give a plethora of items that become available, this is a one time one item only recipe. I like the idea of immersion for culinarians, cause yeah people who love to cook love new recipes or ways to make things. My previous statement though is that those rare recipes sure they sell for what you might think is alot, make a craftable item even rarer for crafter masters to be able to make? Dont get me wrong, I like it, if its harmlessl enough to be a glamour. if this became a thing for battle-legit gear, or rare high powered gathering gear, it could tank the market and allows for monopolies.

Many MMO's have used single use, drop recipes. For 14, I could picture maybe one use Aetherial recipes but I'd prefer to see them in a crafting context. Guild recipes or something.

You want to force crafters to do battle content to get recipes so they can craft? Sounds like a crappy idea.

How about recipes earned with skill (aka Master Books)? All these easy HW casual blue scrip master books are killing crafting. Recipes aren't earned, they are just a capped currency. Bring back the punishing ARR Master Book system imo.

Not if the battle content is Kitchen Stadium! "A la cuisine!"
