    Wiping City last night.
Get to second boss and there's not enough DPS to kill the zombie adds... Twice. Of those two attempts we only manage to reach the actual three add phase once, in which we wipe spectacularly just after the succubus dies. Attempt three and one tank pulls when my alliance only has a four man group (we'd only just had a second healer and other DPS join and were still making their way over to the arena). Naturally, the first set of zombies don't die again giving us 2-3 Vuln stacks. We wipe soon after.

    It's now 9:45pm here and I'm feeling exhausted from witnessing all the dumb mistakes select individuals in this group are making, so I nope the hell out of there and spend the rest of my evening fishing. Yet another week I don't have an ounce of mental energy left to deal with attempting Wiping City again and will avoid like the plague. =___=;;;

Hope you at least reported him for his harassment of yourself and your other party members. People make mistakes, especially first-timers, but that doesn't give anyone free reign to go from zero to asshat in 5.2 seconds.

And now for my story. Wife and I kidnapped a buddy from our FC and took him into leveling roulette. We get Aurum Vale. I thought the unsynched warrior was the new person, but no, it's our buddy who's new. I like to think that I'm not a crappy scholar, that it was just AV being AV, but someone died every single boss. No biggie, I'm on scholar and wife's playing summoner, so we both have swiftres and instant communication since we're seated right next to each other. Our buddy? Poor guy was living the lolgoon lifestyle, on the floor.

We get to the final boss, and tank DC's during the fight. No problem, wife pops her swiftcast and breaks out her chicken nugget. The tank does come back quickly and gets into the fight. Unfortunately, the adds don't die and eat us. Tank apologizes, no big deal, not their fault. Round two, adds don't die and wipe us again. Sadly, this is where I remember that they need to die, and advise we kill them ASAP. Third round, boss dies like clockwork.

Huge shoutout to that tank, and I'm glad you picked up level 49 during the run!

Even if no one's able to help out and I end up having to wait, I find that better than putting up with abusive behavior. Given that it takes more than one person to vote someone out, it'd mean that I'm not alone in feeling it's not worth putting up with that guy's behavior.

Staying silent and continuing with someone like that is like telling everyone you agree with him, even though you guys didn't do anything to warrant that kind of a response from him and his level of crap-tanking should've earned just as much of his own vitriol.

I doubt he exhibits this kind of terrible behavior in person. People like him need to learn it's not okay to do it online either, because you're still dealing with real people. By all means, he was treating you guys like faulty machinery, not humans.

Saw a bard using TP song in the Arboretum during big pulls. Party comp was PLD, BRD, SMN, SCH. No one else needed the TP for the pulls. Bard was eating a damage nerf to preserve TP. Not sure how effective that works out long term...but it seems like sacrificing damage output in that manner isn't going to be the most effective way to handle the pulls. Maybe TP song between pulls or once low on TP? Or even switch over to single target early on because SMN and SCH can handle the vast majority of AoE needed in such an encounter. It would have been great if the bard focused on preventing Final Sting.

Using requiem should've been great too i guess with the SMN/SCH

I really did think about vote kicking him. I also thought about just leaving as soon as the dungeon started.
I recognized his name immediately because I've been in a group with him before. He had bad attitude last time too. It really bothered me.

I thought "If I do vote kick, it will probably pass. Then, we will have to wait for another tank."]
It was early morning (Maybe 9 AM?), so I thought it might be a long time.
I sometimes get bad lag at night and these days I want to do my roulettes in the morning and work at night. Unfortunately, this person seems to be doing his roulettes in the morning too. We have been in the same group two days in a row now.

At the last boss when he was really bad, I wanted to vote kick. But I thought, if the Scholar says yes, but DPS says no, it's too bad for the DPS.

Then, I thought about just leaving. I was DPS so maybe they could find one quickly. Still, I didn't want to seem like a bad person for leaving at the beginning of the dungeon. And I didn't want to explain my reason like "Hey I've partied with this tank before and he is kind of a jerk. I don't want to deal with him. Bye."
It was my true feelings, but I still didn't want to act that way...

But, unfortunately, if I am in a party with him in the future, I might have to say something to justify why I want to leave the party. I don't WANT to say that kind of thing in the party, but I also don't want to put up with bad-mouthed childish tank either.

I didn't report him for harrassment. Actually, I didn't think about it. I just thought "some people are like this. It can't be helped." and all I can do is avoid them.

Maybe when I was a child I would have thought the same way as him. But as an adult, spending an extra 5 minutes in a dungeon because a first-timer died is the LEAST of my worries.

This is why we need some kind of cross-server blacklist.
This would really solve this problem.

EDIT: Oh I forgot to write this.

I didn't think about, if I stayed silent, it would seem like I was okay with it. Actually, all three of us made no comment on the tank's behavior or words. Everyone was completely silent, except "sorry" when we died and scholar who said "1 minute". I am not the type of person to view her opinion directly, especially to a stranger.
I think we just had the attitude "It can't be helped." and just finished the dungeon.

Yeah, I'm not judging (aside from that tank). I admire people who can tolerate his kind of behavior as much as I admire people who can speak up against people like him. Furthermore, you were being consciously considerate of everyone else and did what you felt was best--I couldn't ask for anything more from someone.

A cross-server blacklist would be interesting. But we'd probably run into similar problems that OW got with its "Avoid This Player" function, which they removed.
I think the best we can do is report and hope people like him get a GM warning that they need to be more civil.

    "Don't forget ninja poison"

"Put on Grit/Darkside while you're at it"

    "Don't forget your oath"

    "You're in Cleric Stance"

All phrases I've used to remind other party members to put on or remove their buffs that help them do their job. It goes no further than these lines. I don't insult them, I'm not calling them names or cussing at them or their playstyles.

Yet, many times, whenever I throw out these small reminders, I'm either outright ignored or met with hostility. What is wrong with people? Why do they insist on taking offense at people who are actively trying to help them?

It gets to the point where simply asking my co-healer in Wiping Shitty to help with cleansing debuffs and raising people is met with insults and inane boasting about the numbers we were apparently parsing.

The exact line I used was, "I need your help in cleansing and ressing". I did not cuss at him, I made no comments about his healing or DPSing. I simply asked for help, and in reply, I got nothing but a shitheap. It's starting to make me wonder why I even make an effort to be polite nowadays.
