So it's not really official then. He could be mistaken as some have pointed out here in this thread. Personally I think SE should clarify it for everyone even before the release of 3.4.Its from a video Mr/Happy posted 2 days ago. He is going over translated notes some of which were not mentioned in the live letter. The size of the apartements being one of them, he didn't the translating obvisiously so unless the translator messed up. There is only 1532 rooms per server. Honestly if anyone is questioning the size of the apartements then just wait for the official patch notes.
They should clear things up yes, but will they who knows. Best thing too do at the moment is not jump to conclusions about the size.
Honestly, this thread shouldn't even exist. I don't know why people are panicking so much about the suggestion that there'll be such a small number of apartments per server when we have a lot of solid information to the contrary.

LOL really, so players are being blamed for playing on a high population server? Yeah no, get out. This is a completely flawed system and people need to realize that. Otherwise, everyone should be able to own a house no matter which server they're playing on.Y'all wanna stop it with this crap? Not everyone chose their server because it was giant. Legacy members had little choice, some people joined friends, some people didn't think playing a more active server would be that big of an issue.
What do people suggest we do now; pack up our entire network of friends and move to a smaller server because housing? Nah, the system is bad and I'm not gonna be told it's my fault because of my choice in server.
I really do hope that 36k number is more accurate than the 1.5k one.
Actually, no, you are at fault.LOL really, so players are being blamed for playing on a high population server? Yeah no, get out. This is a completely flawed system and people need to realize that. Otherwise, everyone should be able to own a house no matter which server they're playing on.

You choose to play on the highest population server there is. You KNOW the housing situation is like this. Yes, SE doesn't handle housing well, and I'm not defending that, but you KNOW this. And yet, this is what you choose. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the mass exodus to Bal and Greg isn't healthy, but people still feed it instead of fixing it.
There are servers that STILL have housing. And they would love to have active people who raid come play on them. Everyone's got problems. Deal with it.

Yes! You could instead watch as everyone you know jumps to a high pop server, leaving the place a ghost town secure in the knowledge that you aren't making the problem worse. I mean, yeah, your gaming experience will suck more, but think Centershock....you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you won't make the problem that SE contributed to worse. You choose to play on the highest population server there is. That's what I'm hoping for too. The Ul'dah one looks like it matches the bridge there.Okay, so I did a bit of sleuthing and it looks like the picture of the lav bed apartments corresponds with area at the end of the bridge you can see to the north from the corner of plot 1 in the lavender beds. Similar rock formation, same 5 scrawny trees on the left clifftop, same big tree on the right clifftop. This has me convinced we're getting 1 apartment building per ward/subdivision.
I find it's a good strategy to blame the player instead of SE for their piss-poor implementation, too!Actually, no, you are at fault.

I mean, all that the complainers have to do is drop their current FC, friends, statics, connections, find some creative way to transfer more than a million gil (because that house is gonna cost you!), pay SE more money, move to a dead (or close) server, and then hope that there is some housing still available. Sounds pretty awesome.
Your other post annoyed me but you seemed mostly reasonable. This other post makes me believe you are not. You understand what L E G A C Y is right. The server has been full since 2.0. If the system said no one who moved to this server could get a house then fine. If the system said only characters that were there before 2.0 fine again.
SE has done nothing, in fact they have profited more from Balmung and Gilgamesh then any other 2 servers in the game not counting cash shop. If they can't design a system for all players they shouldn't implement any system and take the pr hit.
If they want to gate it by time played, classes leveled, savage clears, hell mogstation all that is fine(sort of). As long as everyone who can clear the gate can participate. I would never tell someone who worked toward a goal in game go screw yourself. Then design future content around it (seasonal event rewards).

I *CHOSE* to play on a highly populated server, therefore it's MY FAULT that we have NO HOUSING. Yeah, no. But please, continue to live in your own delusion as to what the actual problem is. Because really, if SE actually blamed the players for this ISSUE, we'd actually still be playing this game.Actually, no, you are at fault.

Sorry, I am not falling for your white-knighting tactics for SE implementing this piss-poor housing system nor am I taking fault. You can blame me all you like and you can point fingers at us, but I have been here since 2.0 and we actually had character creation open back then. I cannot be the psychic that you want me to be and predict that in the next several months, or even few years, that this server is going to be "over-populated."
So this is amusing. Basically anything to do with housing has been a failure and SE ignores the forums and hopes it goes away. It took them 3ish months to discuss house flipping and the answer wasn't even that concrete. Also if they have anything they think is good they trumpet it to hell and back. When they know it is bad they keep quiet and hope no one notices. Does anything involving in game housing give you any confidence otherwise?
