Here's my best guess since I didn't watch it either... (I was at a Kingsglaive showing, btw recommend that you watch it before playing XV)

There was a divider set up like this at last years 14 hour broadcast while the ATMAs were being farmed, it's my assumption Yoshida was having a look at the progress they were making this year and it's simply a fun picture someones taken and OPs ran with.

That's right. Behind this fence the "farm all the orchestrion rolls" challenge is happening.

The challenge thing was going on and it was between the Introduction and the start of the Live Letter, Yoshida wandered over there and stood behind them like that for close to a minute or so (I don't think they ever noticed him, no translation of what they were saying at the time so I can't tell if they talked about it) before wandering away again.
