They're easily obtained but 24,000 is quite the haul to get.

Keep in mind that you literally have to farm 24,000 esoterics for the current final step of Anima, and the "best" way to get them is to do the Aetherochemical Research Facility for 150 tomes. This means you're doing 160 runs at ~24 minutes a pop for ~64 hours worth of actual in-game dungeon time (not including wait times for queues). The fact that "Coming into it's Own" is only just getting nerfed means that people who were pushing hard on the quest line went from doing what was primarily a tome grind with a few diversions to an even more linear tome line with about an hour of starting and abandoning leves every week and a half to get vilekin. Let's hope that the next step has absolutely nothing to do with tomes.
