Oh, so when you said "no AoE specialists" or something like that, you didn't mean the jobs, but the people. Gotcha, my bad.

Well, it's not like they were single-target specialists either, what with taking 16 minutes just to get past the moogles. :s

Every time I see a WHM doing nothing but spamming Cure II, I just stare incomprehensibly. And this sight is becoming depressingly common for me. I don't understand how someone can be happy with just spamming 1 spell over and over. Don't they get bored? I know I'm bored just watching them. WHM is my least favourite healer job, but they make it look like the most boring job in the world.

Some people are just fine with doing the bottom line, long as they clear it what reason do they have to change if the result is the same? I know I get bored just healing unless I have no choice, otherwise here come the Holy/Gravity spells.

You know, if a run took 50 minutes, you should be looking at the DPS rather than the WHM, even if they weren't attacking. I've been with healers who didn't touch CS and DPS in eso gear and it still didn't take anywhere near that long. I imagine your being a PLD, as well as a low level PLD, had quite an effect on that as well.

Your wipe at the Moogles/ his "weak" comment also leads me to believe you're probably squisher than you think, and the WHM may not have felt comfortable DPSing because of it. You can throw up all the regens you like, but when the tank is a like a wet paper towel, it literally takes three badly-timed attacks from a mob and he's down because the healer had just switched on Cleric to throw out a Stone III. And I'm not really sure why you're only chewing out the healer for doing his minimum job requirement when by the sounds of it, the DPS were barely even doing that.

Honestly, it really irritates me when healers are expected to both carry squishy tanks and make up for terrible DPS, our primary jobs are to heal; we are not there to work twice as hard as everyone else to compensate for your deficiencies.

If you'd been paying attention, you would've noticed that I was also saying the DPS weren't doing their jobs right. This WHM was just even worse, considering I have healed Sohr Khai myself and I know when a tank is squishy or not. Learning when to DPS and when to heal is an important skill for a WHM to learn, and if you haven't learnt it by lvl. 60, well then that's just misusing the job.

I know I'm squishy. That's why I was deliberately pulling small groups of 3 mobs or less and cycling cooldowns. The WHM had all the time in the world to just throw down Asylum, Medica II, and Regen, and I would've been perfectly fine. I pointed this out, even said they could just use those specific skills, instead of wasting all their MP on nothing but Cure II. I was doing everything I could, as a tank, to make things easier for this WHM.

In fact, they had it so easy, they had leeway to just stand around for long stretches of time doing nothing. Or jump around. They would've had even more time to do nothing if they'd just used Regen. If they didn't want to DPS, that was down to them. In that case, it would've been nothing more than laziness. I can understand laziness. I've been lazy myself. But at least have the balls to admit that you're just being lazy, instead of insulting the tank who's going the extra mile to make your job easier for you.

And at the moogle wipe, the WHM was the first person to go down, to AoEs for some inexplicable reason. I did what I could with Hallowed Ground and Clemency, and ended up being the last to die. So much for my squishiness.

Did a guildhest yesterday, when our tank was none other than good ol' Link himself (of Legend of Zelda fame). Of course he has no clue how to tank, coming from a whole different game and all. Lord knows why Zelda is so taken with this guy. All he did was make problems for everyone else. Luckily he was promptly kicked and sent back to Hyrule, and we had to 3-man the rest of the hest without him. Sheesh

Unlocked some guildhests on my WHM alt, did the level 30 one with the morbol. Well, the DRK lost aggro to the BLM, causing me to stand in the middle of the next Bad Breath, while nobody destroyed the bubbles, causing me in having to tank like 20 adds. Of course I eventually went down, everyone went down, respawned and immediately ran into the morbol and the 20 adds without waiting for their HP/MP replenishing, or me casting Protect on them. And of course they went down again. AND OF COURSE IT'S ALL THE HEALER'S FAULT as the ninja said "healer died too fast".

So, I explained passive-aggressively what went wrong and told my party to stop the f*** running back to the mobs on their own so we can actually fight together. Everyone finally stood still, I protected everyone and we planned on having the DRK tank the morbol while the ninja kites the 20 adds and the BLM AOEs them to death. Worked pretty well except the BLM never cast an AOE spell, so in the end I was out of mana, but at least the adds were dead and no new ones spawned, so we could easily take down the morbol.

But seriously, what a pain for an easy guildhest.

Getting the last battle class of mine to 60 and I just... want to apologise to anyone who sees me as Warrior. I'm bad, I'm trying my best but I'm bad, I loathe the class itself, and I'm just torn between letting getting all classes to 60 rot in hell or give in to the inner completionist.

I just got Ravana on trial roul, the single one primal I have not gotten when I levelled DRK and PLD. Mercifully the DRK popped Grit as soon as they loaded in so I thought "neat, off-tanking, at least I can make sure the group doesn't get cleaved now!"

Three swords, one fallen healer, one dead maintank later we wiped and suddenly only half the party remained there. ;v; I Hereby Tried. Left as well, got Garuda... with the same DRK as before. Yay? Offtanking again? Naturally they don't move her out of the whirlwinds but that's a Gar HM sickness ince 3.0 released, at least here on Moogle/Chaos

So many mentor roulettes over the weekend. So many bad trials and instances. Garuda EX yesterday, both the tanks were new and one of them didn't have provoke. After twenty minutes the other white mage said "this is impossible" and bailed, followed by a dps. The group was talking about abandoning when we got replacements and continued. We got up to 20% echo and it was difficult but we did clear it!

Also had a disastrous first floor of Alexander normal where the OT dc'd right when .5 came out. All I could really do was watch in fascinated horror as everything went to chaos and destruction. Half the party bailed and the OT got kicked. The party did fill up again after a few minutes and a few people calling in favors and we cleared it easily.

But my fave of the weekend was joining Aurum Vale in progress after their healer left on account of wiping them at the first boss multiple times.

When I joined, they were 40 min in progress. We proceeded to wipe at the the first boss and I have no idea why I died. -_- Second attempt lasted forever and I was getting low on MP, so dps was low. As we kept going through reasonably sized pulls I commented on dps being low and my FC mate agreed.

At Coincounter I died even when sprinting full out away from Swing, so I call b.s. on that. Returned and my FC mate and the other dps managed to hang on long enough (melee had died) to finish off Coincounter without wiping.

Then the pull after that, oh god. My FC mate inadvertently pulled everything. The ninja grabbed some hate and died. I tried raising him and it didn't go off bc macro. I had to wait for SC to be up again because I had to keep heals and hots on my FC mate constantly or he'd drop like a rock and him keeping hate on the mobs was a thin thread between us and party death. Managed to get the ninja up on the second try and meanwhile the bard was single targeting the whole time. Not an AOE skill was to be had that day from him. I asked for mages balled, twice. Nothing, and no response. I asked if he had mages ballad. No response.

Somehow we got through the final boss. At one point my FC mate got hit with the Queen's bad breath and I told him to eat fruit right away, which he did, and the ninja was on point killing the adds asap.

Normally I don't hate Aurum Vale, I think it's a great testing ground. But oy, that run.

In happier news I've gotten two Weeping City runs for mentor roulette this weekend and both were wipe free.
