There is a good Reason why Name Shaming / Witch Hunting is forbidden, if People go beyond that and find more Informations about Players, it can go so far that People do beat up People in Real Life.
The World is dangerous, let alone how much People in Real Life would commit such a crime, scary thought...

I kinda miss the old days on that one. While there were no official forums for FFXI, the fansites sometimes allowed you to post names. I recall there being a rather long list of names regarding RMT "players" for a stickied thread on one of them. Name and shame was part of the reason people kept civil back then, since there was no additional layer of anonymity with X-server/realm stuff. If someone was a d-bag or ninja looter, your server would know about it. Thus, said person would have quite a hard time doing anything in the game.

Today, that is certainly a reality. Keep in mind though that harassment can still be reported. RL interactions that result in crime are generally limited and rare, so long as the person to be the victim isn't stupid about their personal information... which most people these days are... yeah, we're F'd.

I agree on the idea of a forum down vote. The point of the forum is to be able to express opinions in a format the company can see and possibly make additions to the game with.

SE avoids those systems in game (I think - theory here) because of the possible abuse risk. Right now all we have is the blacklist and if you're on an RMT heavy server that's probably taken up by spammers.
