Veteran Rewards going to 1200 and 1320 days

The veteran rewards are not really that exclusive because anyone can get them if they subscribe long enough and its also not really limited. If someone truly wants them than they should be patient enough to either play that much or buy enough time to get it. So in the end everyone can have one if they just play long enough. Don't really see a problem with it.

The other really exclusive items like the Chinese ones are bad because we wont ever get them, even if we play this game a long time so the outrage on this was imo deserved. Wanting everyone that plays the game to have the same chance to get every item is imo way better than making something limited only. (Still feel sad about all the limited minions I will never get, just because I found this game later) Veteran rewards are the same for everyone so they are fair for me.

Main Boss: Finally FFXIV is going well, I was thinking, how can we show our players that we really appreciate their support?

Helper 1: humm.. many games give subscriber perks every so often.

Main Boss: GREAT IDEA! humm what could we give?

Helper 2: Are you sure boss? that sounds pretty generous.. I mean many other mmo companies just put that stuff in the online shop... It would be "better" for us Boss to just put them in the Mogstation...

Main Boss: No.. lets do it that way. We are different than other companies we do respect our players.

Helper 1: Yes Boss its true.. it seems they are unhappy with the reward/subscriber system after all..

Main Boss: What happened? are they not working? are ppl not getting theirs? is that it?

Helper 1: No Boss.. erhmm it seems they are complaining because not "everyone" can get them .. because some of them take "a lot of time" to get...

Main Boss: Well they are indeed rewards for subscribers.. I would have thought that it seemed logical that you need to subscribe to get them and the more time you subscribe for, different and unique rewards you should get ... HUmmm what should we do then?

Helper 2: I told you Boss, just put the cool stuff in the Mogstation and give them some potions, or crafting materials...

Veteran rewards dont change (since Op said "assuming it will be this again") - so there you go... your hope is to play this game for three years just as some of us did and you'll get the outfit. Until then: If you wanna look like Zidane (for whatever reason...) you can be creative and use pieces we already have ingame to achieve that - my friend made his retainer look like him without the outfit and now we have a cute little lala-Zidane in our garden.

Veterans who are loyal to this game and supporting it for quite a while arent "asking" for much if they're telling you that those items are their reward for playing this game for so long and want to keep this. You get tones of items in game... when I started this game those items didnt even existed and I somehow made it... People have to stop asking for everything to be handed to them NOW...

Except that is an entirely different game. The equivalent there would be wanting perks in FFX-2 without having played FFX. Them taking place in the same universe doesn't make them the same game.

And I do like how the presumption is "Cash Shop" despite my never having brought it up once. In fact, I didn't even criticise the veteran rewards; just said I was a "bit" disappointed because there isn't a way to earn them outside of waiting. You can't sub beyond 180 days even with time cards. That all said, I don't dislike the sentiment, and I'll admit mayhaps I didn't word it well enough in retrospect. So I'll concede that point.

It is done to. prevent fraudulent transactions. This game is still created by a company, which is looking for monetary profit. I have seen other MMOs having that same or similar payment method. They wont go over certain amount of $$. At least you can do some type of special purchase (subscription) or wholesale lol.

I would suggest you to contact SE personally and try to see if they can do some type of exception.

Maybe this is just me but I kinda "like" that - if I see someone with those items glamoured etc. I'll know they're playing this game for a while and therefor should have a certain knowledge about it. So its not only a reward but also showing everyone that you've been supporting this game for a while already...
