This is like me complaining about not being able to get the legacy tattoo even though I didn't play the original FFXIV.

Except that is an entirely different game. The equivalent there would be wanting perks in FFX-2 without having played FFX. Them taking place in the same universe doesn't make them the same game.
And I do like how the presumption is "Cash Shop" despite my never having brought it up once. In fact, I didn't even criticise the veteran rewards; just said I was a "bit" disappointed because there isn't a way to earn them outside of waiting. You can't sub beyond 180 days even with time cards. That all said, I don't dislike the sentiment, and I'll admit mayhaps I didn't word it well enough in retrospect. So I'll concede that point.
It is done to. prevent fraudulent transactions. This game is still created by a company, which is looking for monetary profit. I have seen other MMOs having that same or similar payment method. They wont go over certain amount of $$. At least you can do some type of special purchase (subscription) or wholesale lol.
I would suggest you to contact SE personally and try to see if they can do some type of exception.
I pay month by month myself and am just getting up to the Tantalus reward.
Looking forward to seeing what's next.![]()
Why would and should they? Because someone cant wait to be rewarded for loyalty and want their shinies NOW?
Really? In this case, I better call my parents and ask them to send my christmas presents over...
Maybe this is just me but I kinda "like" that - if I see someone with those items glamoured etc. I'll know they're playing this game for a while and therefor should have a certain knowledge about it. So its not only a reward but also showing everyone that you've been supporting this game for a while already...
Have you never played a sequel that gives you exclusive items for having certain saves on your memory card? There were a tonne on the PS2 (Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter did it if I remember correctly). Also just because 1.0 got rebuilt, doesn't make 2.0 a completely different game, you don't have to get a new subscription between versions.

I did say without. I didn't play 1.0, so I wouldn't ask for content that required I have bought it. So I don't think the comparison fits. This was more arguing over exclusives being time based over in-game effort. But I've said my bit on that above; and that it applying here may not have been the best means to go about that.
