Veteran Rewards going to 1200 and 1320 days

People always want stuff that is exclusive because they do not have it.

People also want that something for the utility they gain from it.

An item that provides not utility has no value and nobody cares if it is exclusive. Make the reward a "Thank you" voucher with no use other than being a reminder and clogging up your inventory and nobody will give a rats ass about it. Glamour, though...people might simply like the looks.

This is why exclusivity, by nature, typically destroys utility. In order to be worth it, the bonus utility derived from the people "who have" needs to be bigger than the utility of all the people "who don't have".

That said, IMO the best solution for veteran rewards would be enabling bigger subscription periods. They're not really exclusive (because you can attain them), but plain and simply rewards for X amount of subscription time and I don't feel it matters whether this was paid in advance or bit by bit. In fact, economically speaking, money now is worth more than money later, so I don't see much issues with that solution - people still have to pay the same amount for the same reward after all.

What bugs me is not being able to add more than 180 days, really. The "Veteran" system is a reward because you're paying for the game subscription. Kinda sucks that if someone wants (and has the amount of money required to) get the 700+ veteran reward right away, they can't. Being able to pay upfront 2 years of service doesn't make anyone less of a Veteran in terms of subscription lenght.

Why would I want my character to look like an established one from another game?

Well, even if you don't want to wear the full outfit, some of these pieces are just prime mix and match with other items candidates.

For example, I don't ever use the strife chest piece, but I use the pants and shoes.
Those pants go with just about everything!

I've not tried personally, but I've read before that it stops you/won't allow the card if it would take your remaining subscription time over 180 days.

What bugs me is not being able to add more than 180 days, really.

I don't know for sure (does anyone?), but I think there's possibly a few reasons for this:

• It might be a liability thing as SE are essentially holding onto peoples money for the entire time and there could be legal limitations on that.

• Also while getting money up front is good for them, it does mean they don't have as steady an income (it won't look good on figures if one quarter they get massives of income and the next hardly anything as loads of people paid up front for 2 years etc).

• Right now if they wanted to shutdown the game, unlikely as that is, they'd only have to worry about refunds or giving notice for up to 6 months.

• If they wanted to, they could instigate a price increase at any point. They wouldn't be able to do that as easily if they've let people pay for X years in advance (or at least they wouldn't be able to get that money off those people and/or people would complain unfair others got it cheaper for longer).

Yea, this is what boggles my mind. I had an opportunity to purchase a year's worth of sub at one time, and figured I would go ahead and do that so I don't have to think/worry about the sub during year. So here I am, ready to basically fling cash at the monitor, and mogstation is like "meh... don't wanna. You can do half of that". Wut?

Fanfictions, fanarts, cosplay, covers, toys collection... They all stem from the same passion for a specific fandom. It's a hobby, not a call for attention. Some people enjoy playing as already established character, and whether you can believe it or not, the entertainment they get out of it is real. You don't have to embrace it, you don't even have to understand it. But at least accept that not everyone has fun in the same way as you do.

People buy Minfilia's outfit because they like her. People buy Sleipnir because they like Odin's steed. People go to the hairstylist to have that VIP's same haircut. Etcetera. It's all reflections of the same kind of passion... Emulation has been there since the age of time. It's why the movie and videogame industries try to make characters that are relatable for the costumer. So they get inspired from them (and yes, toss money at it).

Back on topic: It's been repeated several times already, but those rewards are meant to go to players who subscribed for a specific amount of days. If you want them so bad, you should do what everybody else has done to get them. To ask for discounts when nobody else got them is indeed a display of entitlement and should not be endorsed.

While I appreciate this being a reward for longtime players, it is a bit disheartening newer ones basically have no hope of getting these cosplay outfits (assuming it will be that again).

This in bold is a false perception, as well. The only ones who won't have hope are those who can't have patience (or, money to spend on game time cards, I guess?).

Personally I have only enough to pay a single monthly sub a month, and I have as much hope to get it as everyone else.

Guess WHAT? there are people, like myself who have reached that many years of subscription. It isnt even hard to do theres a monthly reup or resub instant transaction option. Yeah some of us, and even 1.0 players payed THAT much into this game. Its only fair that others should have to as well, the rewards arent even that great. some mounts, some minions and some glamours. This isnt even an issue at all, this is, keep supporting the game thanks for your support. This is even a complaint? come on! This isnt something impossible. Wait untill they claim the game is ending officially, then itd be an issue. As far as the complaint about the level jump potion, it applies to the same thing. Someone walks in and wants to be handed all the rewards as if theyve supported this game for years, its bad enough that past holiday events are buyable, now you think people should pay for having not had to be a subscriberfor years cause its not fair for people who didnt support the game when it was new and needed the help. really?

I can not agree with you here, we payed in 1.x to help the Developers, not to become "special Snowflakes" who have something no one other can get.

Once you pay the £184 that I have paid, you can get the strife outfit, or the the £215 for the wild rose outfit, or the £275 that I will have paid for the tantalus outifit. If you can match that cost of subscription, then you can have the same rewards.

This isn't even a time thing, you can buy 1080 days today and get the outfit express delivered
