Yes. Another great idea to help with all the name confusion.

i like my full name "Chibino Boukensha" which in simple terms it means "little adventurer" and it goes well with my lalafell. since Chibi also has multiple meanings which is usually used to reference kids. so i guess my name can literary mean "Small Adventurer"

The point is that nobody else does.
That is a complete lie. There are a lot of people in this thread right now who either speak against your forum, or list an idea to help clear the air so the problem you have can easily be fixed.
I would say it is a safe bet that there are more people in this thread who side with me about keeping the surname than people who side with you.
My name does not fit within the atmosphere of Eorzea because requiring everyone to walk around with First and Last names hovering over their head is a stupid idea to begin with. Since it's virtually impossible to make a powerful and memorable sounding name when surnames are required, I decided to rebel against the machine. Belgian Rofl is a retarded name, just like 99% of the rest of the names in FFXIV.
I had a list 20+ names I wanted to use, and names I would use if others were picked. They were all great names, and they were all Single names. I wanted to quasi role play, but SE ruined that for us all.
Kimahri, you read my post out of context. It was in response to the post directly above it. The guy said how he likes his name "Chibino Boukensha", and then went on to explain what it means. That's great that he likes it, but nobody else will even remember it unless they are in the same linkshell.
When I played FFXI in Asura, I developed some really cool and efficient XP parties and strategies (for early ToAU days). I was very frequently getting /tells because #1, people loved the XP i would get them, and #2, my name stood out and was easy to remember..
Nobody's gonna remember "Chibino Boukensha" unless they write it down...

You forgot the number one rule. This game is to be enjoyed by not one, but every other person available to play. It is their right to name their character whatever they like. Even though I may not remember Chibino Boukensha, I still can not take his/her right to name themself. The people in direct contact and personal friendship over will remember who Chibino is. He/She doesn't need anyone other than who she deems friends to know who he/she is.My name does not fit within the atmosphere of Eorzea because requiring everyone to walk around with First and Last names hovering over their head is a stupid idea to begin with. Another story you mentioned was that you were popular back on your server to make great XP parties? The simple ease of your name didn't ring in their ears as to why they talked to you, it was what you were good at that made them remember who you were. On the Siren server from whence I came I can clearly remember Quizatsa and how he spelled it simply because he was one of the best damn crafters I've ever known. Also he was one of the wealthiest. When he retired he personally presented me with 1,000,000 gil as a simple act of generousity. He will always be remembered for this reason. Another person would be Avesta: The Red Mage. He was known simply because he was great at doing an awful lot of endgame stuff by himself.
I will not stand here any longer and tell you you're wrong. You are entitled to your opinion, but I strongly disagree to your opinion. It is not our fault you hate Belgian Rofl as your FFXIV name. I love the fact I was able to be the first person on the Besaid server to get Kimahri Ronso. I mean what are the odds? On that server alone? The only thing I can tell you is that if you don't like your name then to change it to something you do like. How about Belgium Waffle? That one taken?
Right now the problem I see with this is that there is really no good ways to directly connect a way to search for these people on the game right now when you only have a partial of the name. If we can change this then maybe you'll come into more ease of your surname.
My only complaint with surnames is that after using just the name "Desirai" for 8 years, I had to quickly come up with a last name for her just for this game. And it was ohso imaginative. Koneko. {JApanese for Kitten}
My second complaint (I lied in the first paragraph) is yes, typing out peoples' names.
Of course, if you have the person selected, all you have to do is type /t <t> message and it will send them a tell.then ctrl R.

Maybe a toggle is in order, it'd be good for privacy when you dont want unwanted tells
you are aware that there are tools you can employ to make two names sound more memorable right? Things like alliteration. Rhymes, approximate Rhymes. one name that confers a title and a regular name. Hell even YOUR name is difficult to forget because its funny to those who get the joke.
Well thats certainly not being kind to your server mates, yes some people are uncreative, yes some people go overboard and make the name a confusing mess. but not much of that would change if they only had one name, it would probably be worse since their first choice would be taken.
Wait so hold up, instead of bending the two names around to fit into your quasi RP you picked one that was completely unthematic? Whaaaaaaaaaaaat whyyy would you dooooo thaaaat.
Addendum: Oh no Martin Luther King Jr has four names, what do? cannot deal.
Hey, Nephera. Not to go off topic here, but how in the hell do you make those signature cards?
