Do you play as your most efficient job or your most fun to play?

I started all over again back in January and decided to go ninja and I mained that until I beat Heavensward then I switched back to my old love of summoner. I geared it all up and did its anima, but I haven't played ninja in so long, so I went back to it and started playing it again to get reacquainted. I actually prefer to play as ninja instead of summoner, at least for the time being, but I noticed that my runs are actually a couple minutes slower. My nin is roughly 20 ilevels lower than my summoner, so obviously if I want a quicker run, I have to go as summoner. So, I'm a bit torn on what I prefer now. Ninja, which is more fun for me, or summoner, which is more efficient.

You ever find yourself in that dilemma?

I main AST and raid as AST, which is a significantly higher IL than my BRD, but I run with my BRD for my roulettes and other casual content.

I do this because I enjoy healing and I'd like to think I'm a good healer, but I get bored of healing all of the time. Playing BRD gives me a little break. I don't think there's a problem with it, as long as you meet the IL requirements for content you're fine

I enjoy and am best at BRD, so it's both. Since I love to play BRD so much, I think that's why it's my best job, to be honest.

I also love to play SCH. I don't think I'm very good but I think I'm good enough to not be a hindrance when playing it.

I've been an archer/bard since the beginning, it's what I'm most comfortable with; even if I'm not always doing the best I can. I had an absolute blast leveling dragoon and I'm currently working on blackmage (I feel so powerful..) Leveled astrologian for a while and really loved the sense I was playing an important role, same with dark knight, but in the end I'm just a bard. :>

I do this also! I main SMN for raiding/ex primals(before nerfs/echo) and I do roulettes and other casual things as WHM. After upgrading and echo things I try raiding with WHM.

I just stopped playing as anything other than NIN. The other DPS jobs became very annoying with Heavensward (monk: chakra spam -> carpal tunnel, DRG: add/subtract timers, BLM: maintain a buff just to even have your DPS rotation available to you, BRD / MCH: now casters, etc.) while NIN saw QoL improvements (armor crush) and fixes (mudra lag). I didn't find those other classes hard to play (I'm actually quite good at BLM), but they weren't enjoyable.

I've tried DPS for content I "don't know", but haven't liked BRD, DRG, or BLM at 60 for PVE so I just stick with WHM. A job that you're more interested in you'll be willing to invest more in, imo, so eventually you'll be far more efficient.

The most fun to play - Ninja isn't exactly the best thing to main when you're sitting in europe and play on an NA data center. I do tend to get more efficient at the jobs I play the more I actually play them, tho.

That said: I'd advice simply gearing your ninja, if you have more fun with it. Gear comes easy, so it's no big deal!

Both. I love managing SMN and I'm good at it.

Do which job you find fun and make it efficient.
