No dude not quite that hard that's pretty extreme, but yes a game where mistakes have penalties, death with out consequences "in my opinion people calm the hell down" isn't as much fun.

As the game is now death means nothing I can set my home point run around as carelessly as I please and lose nothing but a few seconds running back to where I died.

I like trying to use strategy and try to figure out how can I get this done with out getting killed in the process.
