FFXIV 2nd expansion: Viera-like race still a possibility?

Doing the HW arc, after doing party after party, with the Au\\'ra made meeting that Au\\'ra girl kind of silly; I\\'m not sure why my character was surprised...

It would be fun for this rce to try hide their identity though with long animal legs. xD

That's quite a bold statement. What gives you the impression that people were disappointed with Au Ra? A few disgruntled posters on the forums? It's my in-game experience that Au Ra are TREMENDOUSLY popular, a huge success. As much as I'd like to see an unusual race (maybe one with small, cute males and big, strong females, for a change), I find it more likely that for future races, devs will go with the "popular" option.

the fact it was brought up by the dev team talking about the high inital negative feedback of the au ra and even Yoshi-p saying he wanted something more beastial then what the au ra were. they are NOW a popular succsess due to higher quality models textures and animations, and people even now say it is just a play on the poular races which is safe, rather then creating something new

Why not Yukes from Crystal Chronicles?
They look fairly obscure and one could adjust the models so that armor wouldn't look ridiculous.
They could be a former servant race of the Allagan Empire that has now awoken due to the Garleans fiddling with some ruins again.
I would love to see them (or ANYTHING from Crystal Chronicles) in the game.
Both FFXIV and FFCC have a very medieval feeling to them.

If there is a new race, I hope they introduce this race alot better then what they did with the Au Ra. People can say whatever they want about WoW, but when they add a new race, they make the race a part of the world, this is something that I found very lacking with the Au Ra.

All races are pretty close to the same character models to ease the work of new armour, or maybe ps3 limitations?

If subs are way down when they are discussing expansion three or onward then expect Viera with the tag most asked for race join Eorzea. If they still have enough subs/cash shop players wants don't matter that much.
