Seems on par for SE so not surprised. Are you surprised?

If you already have it, then you don't need to buy it. The return of previous seasonal event items into the mog shop is for those who missed it.Charging me real money for items that I already earned in-game is not acceptable. Especially when those items can be destroyed.
But yes, the devs should change it, so that lamps don't get destroyed if you want to remove it from the house. And put the furnitures to the Salvager NPC for those who did the event.
Was no part of a summer event, so you have to wait longer.

Welp, that didn't take long.

Can we just necro one of the old, very debated, threads each time something is added to Mogstation? It would save a lot of time, since every possible reason - pro and con - has been argued to death already.
A mentor stole my house, slapped me across the face, and raised my ping from 15 to 30. Literally unplayable.

This is a brand new issue. If you earned a piece of armor or a weapon from an event and lose it, you can buy a new one from the Calamity Salvager. If you didn't earn it, you can buy it from the Mog Station.
With the event furnishings, there is no option to replace them with in-game currency. With event fixtures, the problem is compounded. You're forced to either never install them, keep them installed forever, or destroy them. This has always been a problem that needed fixing, and they still haven't. Now to charge us extra money to fix a problem that should never have existed is just a slap in the face, and it needs to be addressed.
This thread isn't about whether Mog Station in general is good or bad, it's about charging us real money for in-game items we already earned in-game.

A quick search tells me this is not a "brand new" issue.

Fair enough, however if you're wearing the Lightning gear and you put on some other gear, you don't lose the Lightning set forever. You do with the Bombard Chandelier (and the Eerie Wallpaper and Starlight Interior Wallpaper, which are sure to get added to Mog Station once those events roll around again).A quick search tells me this is not a "brand new" issue.

The reason SE are adding the seasonal items in the mog station is due to people taking advantage of the event items being MB sellable, take a look at the cherry blossom tree in the MB, now if they did make it so you could buy'em from the Calamity salvager, it'd make it easier for people to buy'em and sell'em on the MB for those that wasn't there, but since it'd be more easily attainable it would lower the MB price, the lest SE could do is have it in both mog station and in the Calamity Salvager both non-transferable so that way people that was a part of the event could still get it with gill.
