Gotta say, I'm a bit shocked at all the people with upvotes for refusing to say a simple hello. lol. It's really not hard, even for you PS4 players. This game doesn't lend itself to be able to chit chat whilst fighting, I get that, but you generally have 10-15 seconds at the start while your healer is buffing. Oh well.

    Some annoying behaviors and perceptions
These were all brought over from WoW, where these kind of things are commonplace. They've seldom happened to me in this game (typically due to level sync), but they're still sore spots when they occur:

    • As a tank, players that pull for me. This gets my goat.... Heck, it gets my whole herd of goats. I'm one of those that actually enjoys tanking, so for someone to try to do my job for me is taking food off my table, very disrespectful. To further exasperate the situation, it's always the well-geared ones that do it - I hardly see crap-geared players pull for me - so "you pull it, you tank it" doesn't really work. Then there's the healer, keeping The Usurper healed up. I don't know if he's just haplessly doing his job, or if he's in on it with him. The few times I've piped up and said something I either get ignored or lol'ed at, so I usually just /leave. I'd rather be a 30 minute deserter than a 10 minute figurehead.

    • As a healer, unpredictable tanks. I either want them pulling big all the time, or pulling small all the time. I want them either using their CDs properly (hint: Don't pop 'em all when you're only fighting 1-2 monsters), or not at all. Problem is is that some tanks can get whimsical, suddenly going from one group at a time to pulling a whole room at once and/or using cooldowns when we'll be spending most of our time moving out of AoE. Stuff like this really throws me off my rhythm, putting me in "React Mode", which is very stressful.

    • As a DPSer, some combination of the above two. Basically, as a DPSer I have to endure long waits unless it's Deep Dungeon (which is usually a minute at the most). So when I actually do manage to get a group I'd like it to be worth my while when I'm there. But when I have to run with Pokey Little Puppies, solo questers, or Tackleberry tanks it's frustrating. A waste of time.

As a DPS who might occasionally do this. Just to give you perception into why this sometimes happens. A lot of DPS jobs have something they have to keep up that takes a while to get back. Look up how grease lightning works, or enochian, and blood of the dragon.

If pulling it 2-3 seconds before you saves this buff. It's worth it for you and the group. And the dps is most likely not doing this to spite you. More like they believe in your skills to get it off them so they can DPS. Trust me, is DPS who have positionals, if we have hate we can't use them and then we're losing dps.

So they definitely want you to still tank they just also want to keep up their buff.

I'll usually just do <Good morning/evening!> and at the end of a run it's <Take care.>, but I'm a bad typist otherwise. Unless I'm missing it, I don't think you can add auto-translate commands into macros, otherwise I could have a whole hotbar or two devoted to them. Fast to type while getting your message across.

When most of their time is spent in an elitist echo chamber, this is the unfortunate result. It's almost parallel to gifted kids who attend schools with no students who are different from them. It distorts their view of reality and, for some, amplifies a superiority complex.

Usually say salutations and take care if I try to type while healing, something bad in general happens or oh crap moments. Having controller in hand and having to put it down to type for me is a no no during battle do have chat macro for those special moments /headache runs

Yep! My main DPS is a monk, so I know the feeling (it's why I can't stand the aforementioned Pokey Little Puppy tanks). When I tank I always try to keep the ball rolling, the pauses between pulls to a minimum. Nearly all those shenanigans I went through were in a situation where it wasn't needed ie. Mr. DPSer had to go out of his way to pull extras, or even detrimental (doing the Fandango because of all the AoE going out and/or getting excess damage. Healer can't be liking that). Something like that is a big technical foul in my book.

I get my portion of social interaction through skype and the fc, I see no need for talking to people who I probably never see again in the Roulettes. But hey, if that rustles your jimmies too much, I can always make a greeting via macro when that makes you feel better.

To add my beef to the thread: 17k+ HP DPS who ignore mechanics because 'lol, I'm overgeared for this anyway', only to get blown up by said mechanics.

For me, that's perfect I personally find it a bit difficult to carry on full blown conversations during the actual run due to rotations/dodging aoes, etc. I'm normally healing, and people start dropping when I try :X

Maybe I shouldn't be bothered by it, but a greeting is just basic courtesy to me.
