Materia melding - that second meld.

Nice that the first meld is a 100% success rate, but it leaves me eager for more materia on my gear. Problem is I've yet to come across any crafter who has done enough first melds to be allowed to attempt a second materia meld. Has anyone managed it yet and do we have any idea how many melds you have to do before you can try it.

Forbidden Materia graft opens up after ten melds, go to the Goblin NPC and select the Trade-In option.
Firsthand experiment shows extremely low sucsess rate. A second meld on a NQ R49 Cobalt Lance showed about 17% sucsess rate, HQ1 Thermal Alembic at 19% sucsess, and Vintage Coif +2 had a 21% rate of sucsess.
Given these data my guess of a HQ-Five Materia Piece would have roughly a 1-700 chance.
On a related note, after 60+ materias I still haven't gotten any T4 maxed out ones.

read jimmy's post, you need to meld 10 materia then get the advanced melder from the goblin

i tried it 6 times so far! 5 failed
had something like 23%ish all the time
