Considering how people manage to buy the wrong tomestone items and then complain to a GM about it, now the devs have to idiot proof everything, including doors.

That's what I'm saying though, there IS no possible bad outcome to opening a door so it is pointless to have the game ask if you really want to do it.
It makes sense for everything that has a possibly negative outcome to the player (like buying the wrong item and being unable to obtain the tomestones back, or losing Gil for teleporting to the wrong place, etc.).
But you simply don't HAVE that possibility with the doors, since opening them doesn't even start a battle with the opponents behind them.
It's not like everytime I use my chocobo whistle I get asked if I really wanna call my chocobo and mount it.
If there is no negative outcome, there is no reason to have a safety mechanism in between.
The restriction that annoys me a lot is:
"[NPC] cannot respond while moving." During /beckon levequests.
Really? Why can't the NPC respond to my /beckon emote while they are walking? Why do I need to wait to /beckon until they have come to a complete stop?
Also, and correct me if I am wrong, but why is there no prompt when joining a group that my Duty Finder queue will be cancelled, BUT there IS a prompt when I try to summon my chocobo?
Because queue times can be insanely long, it is easy to forget that I am queued. When I see a group of a hunt, for example, I will join without thinking. Only to find out my queue is reset.
But when I try to summon a chocobo there is a prompt. But now when I try to join a party.
(I may be mixing this up with something else. But as far as I remember, is this not the case?)
For those of you who think you should be immediately whisked into an instance:
You queue up, there is a 20 minute average wait time. Do you wait around for 20 minutes doing absolutely nothing, or do you do other things?
Do some of those things require you to change gear and/or classes/jobs? Do you really want to show up in the dungeon instance as a level 15 miner when you queued up as a level 60 Dark Knight? How about if you queued up as a level 35 Scholar, would you really want to show up in level 59 Bard gear?
Do you really want to lose your spot in the queue because you are the wrong job/class?
This is the one major reason I am thankful for those 45 seconds.
Or they could idk..auto change your class. Plenty of other mmos do this, why can't this one?For those of you who think you should be immediately whisked into an instance:

Except if there is a strong enemy behind the door that attack first the person who opened the door
You can be in the middle of the 3 star craft that still need 20 sec to finish.

You can easily just say your PVP queue has popped before jumping in to be honest.I would like to add, no communications via link shells or FC chats during pvp. Some can say it's understandable, but for me it's a pain in the ass if someone asks me a question for example, I get my que to pop and people think you ignore them for 15+ minutes just because you can't answer lol.
this forum is a good example of restrictions in order to bypass the lame limit u need to edit your post .....3 years laters still there /facepalm
ppl can log in , and u can be online and they say hi , and ask u or tell u if u want to go X or blabla , until they notice u are in PVP .......and then start poking and making fun of u , and there is nothing u can do about it (yeah thats me)
Sorry for the necro; was just browsing the tag "restrictions" and found the ones mentioned here still relevant.
WoW Legion, for one, will not only allow you to queue as any of various specs/roles available to your class, but will also automatically swap you to the appropriate one upon entry into the instance.
It would take effect upon entering the duty, meaning you'd have to accept it first. You might still be penalized for not accepting the queue, as needed to finish your craft, but you now need the second or so less to swap to your job after, so even that risk is mitigated faintly. (And if not in a sanctuary for some strange reason, no longer reset all of your cooldowns.)
:: Also, when will we be rid of the restrictions to what UI panels we can have open at the same time (especially vendors, retainers, etc.), or those weird issues like being unable to start a leve while mounted or even jumping? Or this damn forum character limit / obligatory edit?
