Apartments / Public housing question

I know I have my hopes up. But I am seriously hoping the apartments will be well... apartments like a one bed room loft. Or ones with two or three small rooms that's joined together. I just..hope it's not one room like the FC chambers. That's already in game why would we need another one of those.

I'm with you here. I really hope they're somewhere central too rather than in isolated neighbourhoods. I know they're popular in this neck of the woods, but I've never understood why people would prefer instanced neighbourhoods over instanced housing in amongst the living, breathing cities you find in mmos.

So you can have a room without tying it to a specific FC (you can move FCs as much as you want without losing it). Also you don't have to worry about your FC kicking you out for whatever reason at any time... (you'd hope not, but apparently it does happen!)

I do have a feeling that it'll be pretty much like the FC chambers, just without needing to be in an FC. Still, I hope there is an attached small balcony so that we can at least put some outdoor furniture.

I am curious, would it be in Ishgard itself or one of it's territories? The small colony/ outpost in the Churning Mist comes to mind.

Wouldn't it be amazing if somehow it would be in idyshire? Like if we did have balcony's we could sit out in them and interact with he people running around the city. Or maybe we would only be able to see the chat, and talk there but not see movement. ( Sort of like when you are in upper limsa some parts you can look down and see lower city limsa but can't see anyone actually moving)

I'm expecting them to be instanced rooms like private chambers without the need to be in a FC. Hopefully they will also be unlimited in quantity like inn rooms so everyone can participate in housing.

Those are good points. But still the size of the FC chambers room makes me sad. Not sure about everyone else though. Some might think they are big.

They've already said it will be limited, but it's limited to 512 per ward.

I think it'll be two rooms which will end up being almost the same size as the interior of a small house but there won't be any outdoor stuff.

This sems the most likely, if they are two levels, and aout the size of a small house interior, that will set them apart from FC chambers. They have talked of indoor gardening, communal chocobo stables and the like. With the 512 per ward limit, it seems as if this is being implemented in a similar fashion to a kind of shadow FC (hence the 512 limit) with a central Appt building (shadow FC House) and an entrance to your appartment through that location. I really hope they opt for something like the interior of a small house, with a cost between that of a personal chamber and a small house.

I'm hoping for at least 2 rooms , a roof top gardening/ outdoor area, and a balcony with a view I don't know what the final product will actually turn out to be , but I do believe it has potential.
