That I sure did not. Just saying that it is easier to turtle up if you want to clear first.

Well I don't think I'd ever do Savage mode stuff any time soon, but I will practice timing my cooldowns all the same since I'm sure it'll be a benefit in all content regardless.
It's the same at Nidhogg EX, for example. After the Claw&Fang phase two tankbusters follow in a 20-seconds window, so if you delay Rampart/Shadowskin and cast them at the last second of tankbuster casting, you can cover both with a single CD.

IIRC, turtling up was the best way to prevent yourself from clearing that fight.

True to a certain extent, only "hard" DPS check in A3S was the double hand with that 4% HP difference in the early stage. The rest were quite forgiving. I checked some of my earlier parses and I was doing sub 600. Total DPS needed was around 6050~6100, ~4.5k on 4 DPS, 1.25k on both tanks (no slashing debuff), 200 on both healers and 200 on LB (2 LB3 on boss instead of caster LBs). 550~600 for MT was totally fine with a huge uptime on tank stance. Admittedly though it also depends heavily if your team doesn't have good personal DPS that you need healers/tanks to compensate.
