Look, I'd be fine with the drop rate if it wasn't a limited time event and I could just spend the rest of my time grinding on it off and on, but it's limited time. I still don't get why a "fun and silly" crossover event requires like 30 hours worth of boring dull FATE grinding in order to get everything or why 222 fates (Which again is like 11 hours worth of effort) isn't enough. I mean, is that your response to the dev team chiming in at some folks going "Uh hey the 3rd quest for the moonfire faire is busted, can we have a fix?", saying something like "Snipe those bombs harder, otherwise you don't want the emotes/armor/whatever enough".
Plus the actual phrase "It's a limited event. Not everything has to be able for everyone, especially on a MMO." is incredibly arguable, especially when by in large a lot of people don't have issue with the "difficulty" of this event, just the fact that they'd be spending upwards of 30 hours grinding the same old boring FATEs and it's not enjoyable in the slightest.

The ponies can be farmed anytime people want and at least it was some sort of challenge before HW. This is a event which should be for fun and not a mindless grind. Getting this mount is not really hard (at least you don't need skill) its just boring, tedious and on top of that has a time limit and RNG. That is not something that many people find as fun.
There are already enough mounts like the one from Alex or the ones from achievements like the mentor one that people can work for and that will be quite rare but this one should not be one of them. If someone is doing the event he should be able to get it and putting in 11 hours (222 fates with 3 minutes per fate) would be already a lot for an event.
But I am also not someone that has less fun with their mounts just because a lot of people have them.
(I am also not feeling proud by owning the second mount..its ugly IMO and was not in any way fun and it also does not really need skills to get it..I had way more fun farming all those ponies..X_X) And yes not everyone can get everything in a MMO, at least not at the time the content comes out. But normally the content and the loot will stay so that maybe somewhere in the future its possible to do so. This has a limited time and it could happen that someone grinds fates everyday for two months and still wont get it because the RNG was bad for them..that is not very nice. I mean you need at least around 4 medals everyday to finish it and not everyone can play 2 or 3 hours a day. At least with older events people could hope to get the items on the mogstation after months have passed but this time we don't even know if its going there.
Even if they would have made it a 100% drop the second mount would still be not that common since not everyone wants to put in that much time and not everyone gets its because it was a event. But at least people would not be punished by RNG if they tried to grind for it, so it would still be a grind but a guaranteed one where you know that you will get something after 222 fates..and not have the time run out after doing 700 or more fates because you could not play every day or even just had bad luck.
Nobody want that someone can do it on the last day in two or three hours and get everything, there is still a middle ground between instant rewards and grinding your soul out.
In the end imo its quite rare in MMOs to have something that will always stay exclusive forever. There are some rewards like the 1.0 ones that will stay exclusive and thats fine but normally things grow easier over time and more and more people will own the rewards. And I see nothing wrong with that because people that got it when it was harder had a time period to feel special about it and after that you will make the other people happy too.
@Ragology: Well you still need to grind at least 3,7 medals a day to get all the medals if you spread it out for two months. So 25,9 a week. If you are only able to play on 4 days that would mean that you have to grind nearly 7 medals a day. If you have a 30% droprate that would make around 23 fates per day. (Hopefully I am calculating this right? XD) Thats a lot of fates that needs to be done to get it. Even if you can play everyday you would need around 13 fates a day to get those 4 medals. And all these numbers are if you have a droprate of 30%. You might get lucky one day but also quite unlucky the other. So really even over two months this does not feel like something fun and if someone has bad RNG it might even be impossible for them if they can only play a certain amount of time.
And before anyone says something, yes I do believe that someone that cant play much per week still should be able to get everything from this event. The two months should have been the safety net for someone that barely plays and not something that is necessary to even be able to finish if you don't have 5 hours a day.

Agreed. Heck, I'm totally fine with some other suggestion that'd make the mount still a tedious pain in the butt, just less one. To me a 100% drop rate, that taking like 11 hours/222 FATES at 3 minutes per fate, was that middle ground. Part of my issue is to some folks the event is perfect as is and shouldn't be touched when obviously some folks aren't pleased with it.
Some alternatives that I've seen could've been -"Keep the RNG, just lower the amount needed for each to 7", that means you need 91 total, and at 30% you're still doing roughly 300 fates.- or "Keep fates as they are, but work some system in so that something like dungeons had a 100% drop rate" which would give players something else to do that also makes early dungeons more populated as well.

Pretty much did them all back to back in one sitting. You people complain far too much, its hardly grind when it can be completed in a few days if that. Perhaps instead of whinging about every last thing that requires effort get on with it instead.
The drop rate should be 100%.
nuff said.
The bombos quest is different. It was broken from the get go. Fates grind isn't.
Also:
What do you prefer:
Having to do 700 Fates with an approximative 30% drop rate ?
or
Having to do 700 Fates with a 100% drop rate but with the weapon prices adjusted to reflect that ? ( remember the event is meant to last 2 months )
Regardless, we won't find an agreement about how the event should be or should have been. There is no grey area here.
I managed to do it on an alt and I'm on Hyperion, the place was swarming with people. If I can do it, so can others. See how that sort of rhetoric works?
Also, good job designing an event that lasts 2 months when some folks (Who I'm sure are just brimming with willpower because I don't know how else anyone is going to do this thing) have done it in a few days. It's a dull crap event and folks don't like it.
Seriously, what is wrong with 11 hours worth of grinding? Why is it so important that this event takes upwards of 30 hours? Why shouldn't it take 11 hours to get the mount?

Not sure where the "222" fates idea is coming from.
many people posted ~700 fates with drop rate about 30% to obtain all L. Medals... Which is absurd IMO.
who in the right mind want to grind 700 fates after grinding fates since release years ago? I think players should all cancel sub for 2 months just to teach SE not to pull one of these BS again.
