2016 Fan Fest Costume Submission Email Confirmation?

thanks for creating the thread. already commented there, but thought I'd jump in to help bump the thread. it can get buried pretty quick so lets try to keep it on the main page or main few pages.

that way the devs can see we're really wanting an official forum to talk about the actual event(since we're using the 2014 thread still). that and it would be great to get some sort of confirmation on if the entries were received or not.

I'll be submitting a piece for the art contest as well, but it's not done. I'm more nervous about getting into the costume contest. the worry for the art contest comes next, lol.
when they had the heavensward transition contest my sis entered, but when they showed the artwork of those who submitted images, hers was no where to be found.
I'm going to try to relax and not worry. Just wait for the full time if need be, and continue to work on my fanfest projects. good luck to everyone and hopefully we hear something back.

Main concern here is this little tidbit in bold below. Why have a month long period to enter if it is first come first serve. Can we submit and update to our initial submission? What does first come first serve basis mean, are they judging our pictures or just picking by who entered first? Clarification on this would be super appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3

• Square Enix will accept no more than fifty entrants for the contest. Square Enix will accept entrants on a first come, first served basis. After Square Enix accepts fifty entries, Square Enix will place the next ten entrants on a waiting list in the order in which the entrant applied.

Once the contest entry period closes, Square Enix will notify the fifty entrants that they have been selected to participate in the contest. Additionally, Square Enix will notify the ten additional entrants that they have been placed on the waiting list.

I'm not sure. Like many people, I waited to start working on my costume until I could secure tickets... so it's nowhere near done, but I have been working on it for a month straight.

I worked on my costume prior to getting tickets and while my costume flourished my in game life did not. Hoping we are not eliminated before they can see the finished product.

I'm the same way. I've been working on my costume more than playing. I hate the waiting to see what's going to happen.

curious thought.... if it was really first come first serve, would they post on the page, or here in the forums when all the slots have been taken. I mean giving us until the end of august is quiet awhile to fill up spots that way.

still since my progress pics are probably less than impressive (only listed 25% done) I should hope for first come first serve since I don't have anything to much that screams hey pick me for the contest yet.

For all we know, asking for progress pics now is just an extra precaution to ensure we are making our own costumes. But yeah, it's made me pretty nervous! The only stuff I have done (as in built) are arm pieces and the himation/toga-like piece for the SMN esoteric. It doesn't look like much but I was taking my time since I really want it to look nice. The costume I wore to the last fanfest was admittedly rushed since I only had a month to do it... and if I'm spending all this money to fly to Vegas, I really want my next costume to look nicer than the last.
