Palace of the Dead is overall disappointing

What I hate the most are the upgrades, and people, and how the progress and saves work.

First of all, your progress is only saved every 10 floors, so if you get DC'd, or people quit before the boss, or people kick you, it's fine, you just wasted a good amount of your time for absolutely NOTHING.

You only have 2 saves, and fixed parties are locked to the member you choose before the first floor, if you try to get a pre-made they can simply remove you from the party when you're on floor 40 for no reason. Also there's the way to create parties with matched, but 4 people, and then you loose all your poms every boss.

The upgrades, argh the upgrades. They will make it drop from earlier chests with a small chance, but it's awful. First of all people thing they are dependent of your level and want to clear every mob on the dungeon, really annoying. People are bitching that you open chests away from them, but the effects are always global. Also when you get matched with people that need upgrade from the earlier floors they can be really annoying and even kick you on floors ending with 8-9 if you say "but killing everything is not going to help" or "no need to clear rooms to get golden or potions if the key is unlocked". The best part is when you queue with people with good upgrades, but they don't know what they're doing, or they believe in the level = upgrades BS or they want the poms that will be lost in 2 floors.

Tired of being kicked for trying to reason with these people, you try to be nice and explain how things work and they simply kick you and you wasted all your time.

Tried it 1x solo, went a few floors. I'd go again if I could take my companion to heal me otherwise, not going period because I am not pugging with people that leave or act like jerks.

I agree with you 1000%! I'm so upset with how terribly boring and tedious PotD turned out to be. My idea for a quick fix: after clearing the 50 floors, you get two options: clear your data and start back at lvl1 floor 1, or, the 2nd option: the ability to farm floors 41-50 with your class and lvl from the clear file only. There is zero reason for SE to make us waste 2-4 hours going back through floors 1-40, when we get zero rewards/upgrades in doing so. #ggSE!

I for one love deep dungeon. Traps. Monsters. Pomanders. There is so many new things that they gave us to experiment with. I enjoy getting to play my classes again and the joy of unlocking different skills at a fast pace. Yes it's a grind for the weapon. I've already done five clears and still don't have one but I enjoy the content enough that I don't mind. Overall I'd say deep dungeon is great!

Coming into a thread to snark about how it shouldn't exist doesn't accomplish anything other than derailing or crapping up the thread. If you don't like a thread, or think it shouldn't exist, you can ignore it. That's the point of the format.

Fantastic advice, but already doing that. Trash content is simply that, and not worth my time. But please don't pretend like you're having fun in there. That sends SE the wrong message. Be truthful so they can fix that dull, tedious, mess of a dungeon crawl. Thanks!

Basically this is the ffxi version of nyzul isle if you ever did that you had to communicate with your team to advance the next floor the only thing that sucks is costant trash killing but the part you turn into monsters and use items is cool its just content thats going to die in a month and no its not diadem its a lil different.
