Whenever people say theres not enough content I feel they are being misunderstood. Theres not enough midcore content.
At the moment this game only has two extremes (not primals) either mind numbing content that only requires half of your attention or hardcore content that requires weeks of practice. People are looking for the middle ground but currently there is none other than primals/ex.

This game is really lacking innovation and creativity so people get bored/fed up quickly. Take deep dungeon as an example, there could have been many more mechanics that just killing mobs over and over. There have been many great suggestions which players hope to be added in the next set of floors but will it? Why wasn't it added in the first place?

Why are we the ones with the creativity?

It's not always the game's fault, sometimes you need to take a break, nothing is fun forever.

You aren't leaving because if you were you would just leave instead of posting on forums where nobody would give a damn.

Again though you are limiting things to one aspect, Raids.

Theres been companies who listen to the community for advice and their game fail, not everything on paper actually translates well in game.

However its natural for a bigger group to come up with more and even better ideas than a smaller group. Some games have been built off of this, Jeff Kaplan from Blizzard was recruited from Ever Quest.

One perspective is that posts like this are entirely selfish. They present a view to new players that isn't as much indicative of the games standard or merit; as it is rather the posters burn out and boredom of repetition.

As someone who has played almost every single mmo title in existance (thats sustaining a decent population that is), you grossly underestimate how much more this game offers in comparison to its competitors. Many of those games; even the more recent and well received ones; have distinctly lacking endgame, challenge, or otherwise. Some contain bugs and exploits like you wouldn't believe.

So whilst the first premise is valid; 'I no longer have fun so I no longer wish to subscribe/play' - advertising and promoting negativity in such a self glorifying way is not productive. These sorts of threads should indeed be rounded into a general topic, perhaps with a questionnaire style format to promote productive review of peoples reasoning before they leave.

All I know is I made a long post here last night and I don't have the heart to read any replies because I am so embarrassed that anyone might have referenced it *LAUGHS* ;;;; I'll edit in a little strike-through and be on my way.

In the end though, its mechanics were one of the most dependent on memorization among all casual content. Once you know that you need Gradual Zombification to avoid Megadeath, that boss is a snooze. Essentially, every time after the first fight, or the first explanation thereto. Ozma is much the same. And the final boss only really requires that you don't go to far into the bladed side, avoid club spawns, and only use safe zones (from club and axe heads) in the same line as the boss (since the side can switch before you can use the safe zone and return to center line, giving a 50% chance of a guaranteed hit against you). They're about as quick to memorize as now 'telegraphed' mechanics like Doom gazes, stacking arrows, etc., and pose very little challenge thereafter.

At least for me, midcore content is something that requires adaptation, not just memorization of mechanics. This is *possible* with certain WC mechanics, such as the plant traps being ignorable if melee actually stands on the bladed side after the first cut, baiting the trap around that flank/back edge before moving back to the safe side before the next cut. It occurs, faintly, for the MT in the zombification fight. It occurs for the healers slightly both there and at Ozma.

I'm not saying it's a bad direction, compared to LotA, ST, WoD, or VA; it just doesn't really carry anything especially midcore-ish with it either. People got held up about as much originally by tentacle-y-sludge-belcher in VA or Behemoth in LotA, etc, and split responsibilities haven't really increased since LotA — if anything WC's feels just under WoD's to me.

Personally I take breaks from FF14 at least 2 times per year and most of the people I play with do the same. The way FF14 works allows you to do so, because as soon as the ilvl rises you can join back, catch up with the gear and check the new content.

Devils advocate - Take a look at all news sites, perception is reality and it gets the job done. Manipulating the view of others by plaguing the front form page with negative threads does wonders to turn stuff around, its essentially protesting, and if the protesting is seen by enough people it start to subliminally change minds or send certain messages. I'm only guessing at this point, but I am fairly certain that there has already been many heated discussions and finger pointing on the other end of this stick. To us this is a hobby, a thing we enjoy. To the business that is SE that is exactly what it is, and threads like these and many others go against that practice.

You may read this thread already have been playing for quite sometime and enjoy the game, but for those that have yet to pick the game up and form and opinion of their own? All they are going to see is what people are upset about and form opinions that way.
