Can Dissipation please give you access to the sacrifice fairy abilities?

Every once in the blue moon I have had to use Dissipation, and just recently I realized that shouldn't it give you access to the consumed fairy abilities for that 30secs period? Of course they would have to be weaker compared to the original, but it would make up for the lost of your pet besides the 20% boost in healing potency.

You should be using the appropriate abilities before you pop it. If anything it should increase critical rate, increases damage, or decrease MP costs.

But what if your in a emergency situation, and everything you pop'ed are still on cooldown when you needed to Dissipation?

It's not an end all, be all, fix everything button. It is very good emergency, but better if planned. You just use an extra succor or indom if you need the heals.

The skill, to me, is allot more about aggressively gaining aetherflow, during opportune downtime or low healing. It can definitely save an encounter without planning, as is.

This should up damage yeah. That would be a strategic use to pop it to increase your dps when you know you dont need your fairy for 30sec.

If you're treating Dissipation purely as an emergency button, you are using the ability wrong in the first place (same as WHMs who keep sitting on Benediction and Tetra for this purpose). Yes, it can be used that way, but the major uses for the ability are strategic: for additional DPS, in preparation for a planned fairy switch, and/or to buff deployed Adlos, often all of this at the same time. For example, back when Sephirot Ex was new, our SCH would usually use Selene for the first two phases because I was mostly solo healing the first phase anyway, then sacrificed her at the end of the add phase to push a bit more DPS, then used the 20% heal buff for the Adlo he deployed for the Ultimate, and afterwards summoned Eos for the last phase once the buff wore off.

Yep, slowpoke is spot on. Ideally you want to plan to use Dissipate. There are times when you really don't need Embrace or fairy cooldowns for the 30s, maybe you used up fairy CDs and Dissipate is your next planned option, maybe you want to plan a fairy switch.

I usually Dissipate during the Seph Ex add phase to sac Selene. Before the last phase is a good option too since there is no healing involved for awhile and can get a stronger spread for ultimate. The adds phase for me was mainly to get full stacks after blowing whatever is left for ED/DPS while Aetherflow is on cooldown, but also get stronger shields for up to two sets of add burn damage, then re-summon Eos for ultimate and last phase. Both are planned uses, allow a seamless fairy switch, and have strong benefits.

If people could only understand this. Dissipation is a terrible panic button.

Dissipate should be the Scholars version of Enkindle, that would make the most sense. Hopefully in 4.0 they will do that.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

It should be a utility CD that swaps your current fairy for your other one, keeping the original on CD for a time. Losing the fairy completely is why most SCH's don't look twice at Dissipation. It's probably the least used skill in the game after One Ilm Punch.
