No point blaming the NA players because all they did was to use a flaw in the system, a flaw that wasn't fixed until later: it's not that they hacked or broke the site or something because it was a turnaround inside the system, which only later got fixed by giving you codes when the purchase was being shipped. THAT should've been from the start.

I was actually responding to you saying "But as we all know, it's pretty convenient to put the blame on everyone else instead of yourself.". Seeing as you told that to someone who is obviously from Europe, your sentence meant that we should blame ourselves for this, while we didn't have anything to do with it.

Hello there, i'd just like to put in my own case into this thread, in hopes that the developers might notice and actually do something about it, or not making the same messy mistake again.

I don't live in the EU, but I had registered an EU account because it was the region that was the cheapest to me at the time when I started the game. But I play in an US server and I was LUCKY enough to meet another player from UK. I had to ask this good friend of mine to order the printed magazine to his house so i can get the code. The thing is, the first available issue will only be 308 (the one with maid costume) and I paid £15 for it. So it's like I'm paying £15 just for the maid costume and i don't even get to read the magazine at all. Whats worse is that my friend had to give them a different address for my issue because apparently you can't have the same magazine delivered twice to the same address.

This is really annoying and troublesome!

PS:And on a unrelated yet fun fact about this flaw: doesn't this all sound too familiar with the private housing mafia going around...you know, selling houses for 10 times the price and instead of fixing it, they ban players for selling plots?
I am well within my rights to partially blame the people who abused the NA promotion because only an idiot would not realize the cause and effect of their abuse on future promotions. They are not solely to blame (SE are too) but they contributed to the problem. In regards to people flipping houses, damn right they should be punished for it and there is a whole thread with people expressing why. That however is not this thread so if want to whine about people being punished for flipping houses go to that one.

I work in publishing and our products also have UK and EU customers which place huge orders numbering in the hundreds of thousands sometimes print run wise. I know how long it could take in advance to do such and it is no where near as much time as you are implying.

It could be done in a single week...from the original phone calls getting agreements knocked up to receiving the codes (I do not know if SE produced the leaflet artwork or the publisher did but that would take a few hours) and then sending it off to the printers along with the rest of the magazine artwork. The printer if used half decent one could probably knock up a proof copy in a couple hours at most then have the magazine templates and leaflets on the press within the same day as received that artwork providing the proof came back okay with no problems.

It would take probably one additional day for the UK stores to receive the stock (or two to three days depending on how far stock needs to travel aka if stock is being delivered to European stores). In total it could all be done within a week easily, the publisher would only need to receive the leaflet artwork or create it and if created it then that would take less than a day, then make a change to the cover artwork maybe to advertise the leaflets inclusion with the magazine which could be done in less than half an hour. The magazine itself (it's creation) 99% would of been done far in advance of this promotion and only slight amendments to the template file required once agreements had been made about how to advertise it within/on the magazine itself.

So this thread turned around pretty quick from pure disgust over the promotion.

First of all, I'm European too so I'm into this as well: I was looking forward to the promotion so this is quite a big deal, but for reasons that I've mentioned in other posts.

Secondly, that sentence is to show that "big guys" prefer to blame the customers rather than themselves whenever there's an issue or a flaw in the system. It's as if PSN or Xbox Live have connection issues and the companies start blaming the players because "they log in too much" and decide to make them pay more for their yearly subs. It's just an extreme example however.

But as I said I'm not going to defend those who exploited the system: they did a bad thing and now we're paying for their crime. Still, why did they (SE and Amazon) have to do this to us? They could've made a better system to get go, anything really, but instead decided to make us pay? Oh yes it would be easy to blame NA players but I'm not blind, I know where to point my finger.

In other words, they didn't expect the "glitch" to happen and instead of fixing it and apologizing for the mistake for the Amazon affair and making it a better promotion for us Europeans, they're punishing us instead!
But the culprit aren't the NA players, at least not entirely. They were part of the issue sure but I still firmly believe that if the system wasn't "garbage", there wouldn't be any exploiters.

But personally I have no idea: for all we know it might be something else and they had a good reason for doing this. Again, a reply or something would've been great but we basically received nothing and forums are the only place for feedback. Until we receive an actual response, all we can do is speculate.

...but I sure won't lose sleep over it.

Guys lets not fight over this. Though we put the blame on anyone except SE for their lack of communication regarding this issue. All we can do is assume but we can never be too sure about those things. Let's just keep bumping this hoping for a proper response.

I am concerned about the phrasing "the Nordic territories" as it implies The Nordic is going to share a campaign (otherwise, surely they would have listed the countries), which feels awkward since we are five different countries with five different currencies and eight official languages. And not all are in the EU! So it seems it would be more difficult to arrange than this campaign, and after seeing how poorly thought out it has been I do not have confidence in SE doing any better for us.

At least I hope this means we are not getting a magazine promotion, because I know of no relevant magazine that exists in all countries. Do we even have gaming magazines anymore? I never see them in stores, and I live in one of the capital cities. Not even in game shops have I encountered a local (please do not make us import and English language one, those are not sold in accessible stores) publication in years, so hopefully we will get a more useful campaign. This one is a nightmare.

I still think we in the EU are being treated as second rate players by SE. But I shall duff my cap at them and say good job at trying to make something different. As previously noted I liked the idea of bying something usefull (snakc, drinks, games) and get a code on top.
But now watching how they are messing up big time, and anxiously awaiting the mess they will do in the Nordic countries. I would still claim that SE would by now be better off, admitting defeat, say they experimented with new business forms. And then throw the items up on the Mog Station for a reasonable price, so we can get them after way to long waiting.

Everyone outside of NA and JP regions is lumped into the "EU region" and they are all treated like second class citizens.
