I'm kinda torn about this but I'm leaning towards a no. I get that Mentors should be encouraging a clear for those who're struggling to get a clear for their first time but is it really much of a difference if a mentor leaves first or a non-mentor? Because non-mentors are prone to insta leave aurum vale just as mentors are. Maybe have an additional lockout from the mentors roulette only (like the max time of the quit duty or something) and the regular 30mins from the whole duty finder as usual. In addition, if that said mentor gets kicked for either of the 4 reasons, they'll still get the penalty solely because that'd be another trolling method (and if he starts trolling and then get kicked for harassment, he'll also eat the penalty that way). But restrict those harsher penalties to Mentors roulette only.

I have always said that the mentor system needs more vetting. My idea was to have different ranks of mentor with different privilages (junior mentor, mentor, and senior mentor), which you get by getting thumbs up and thumbs down in the mentor roulette. An example would be that a junior mentor only has the privilage of entering the mentor roulette, and their icon only shows up while they are in the roulette (to stop the people who just like to show off), once you get enough thumbs up from the people who you are there to mentor (whether thats sprouts or first timers) you become a fully fledged mentor and can enter the novice network. A senior mentor is a reward that is hard to obtain, much like the achievement rewards and it pretty much signifies you as far more trusted than other mentors, and this could come with extra powers perhaps (moderation of the novice network?)

I did paraphrase multiple things you said in previous posts but if you want to just be Bitter Betty, then that's your choice.

We have read everything you have to say, and are not just nitpicking your individual statements. It is all valid. My response was related to your individual statement that involved rewards and your other posts were irrelevant to what I had to say, which is why I did not include them. Everything that me and now LadyVal have said in response to you have been valid and if you cannot acknowledge them then unfortunately I cannot take you seriously.

I'm aware of that fact, which is why in my head it is limited to only sprouts and those with first time bonus (or if that is too limited, also those who do not meet level cap of a dungeon). I hope that with that people will recognise when mentors are doing a good job, and that mentors will need to interact more, offer their support and keep dungeons positive in order to earn their thumbs up.

I'm a mentor, I wear the crown with the responsibility it puts on my shoulders. I'm gonna do my damnedest to help whoever I can, even if it causes them to kick and scream and cry like a small child. That's what I signed up for. If you can't take the heat, turn off the crown and stay out of the mentor program.

I think there should be additional penalties for mentors leaving dungeons: A demerit put on a mentor's record that remains there for a month. If a mentor gets enough of these demerits, they lose their mentor status and have to earn it back by completing Mentor Roulettes in succession. Not all at once, but don't expect to get your mentor status by doing the same stuff you did to lose it.

I feel there shouldn't be any significant rewards for mentors. I understand that the rewards are there to motivate people and keep them engaged, but in this SE fails to understand their players base, at least those that reside in the NA datacenters. All they've accomplished is to flood the mentor channel with achievement chasing players that wanted a crown next to their name for vanity's sake.

Unless the lesson you want learned is "How to Troll 101", the vast majority of players are not really qualified to mentor anyone. When all the achievements and rewards are removed, all that you have left are those who really want to mentor new players. I don't have a sense of how many players that would be, but I'm guessing that it's on the extremely low side. Which, in my opinion, is why the system fails from the get-go.

The mentor system as it is, is a complete flop. It would be more beneficial if the Mentor Channel consisted of LS and FC leaders and turn it into a place where new players could get introduced to various Free Company's and Linkshells they could join based on their interest and goals. I would find that way more beneficial to me if I was a new player. Instead what we have is a channel where 'veteran' players humblebrag to new players, so that they can shock and awe them.

The idea of mentors is good but the community of new and old players is killing. The idea is not only to punish the mentors if not new players

Not exactly. The Mentor system is designed with players helping other players in mind. If you're not going to do your goddamn job as a mentor, why should you have access to the crown? I know so many mentors on Balmung alone who wear the crown because it makes them a special snowflake and damn anyone who actually needs their help. And that makes me sick.

For people that don't perform on high level content, they're not leaving when they don't get the content they want. They're just not performing optimally and probably need help to do so. That's what mentors are for.
