Fair enough.I've got a hyperconductive Biblos, but it's in line after my hyperconductive Almace.
The Horde weapons will serve my needs for everything that's not my main, which already has 240.
Don't get me wrong, I'm going to get the Padjali weapons for glamor. I'm just not going to grind for them. The Palace of the Dead is pleasant side content.
PotD is better for people like myself who missed the window for NidEX learning partiesI've got a hyperconductive Biblos, but it's in line after my hyperconductive Almace.

As it is, it's a nice weapon for when I want to play PLD instead of WAR.

I would encourage you to still go for your Horde weapons, because they can definitely still keep you well into the next patch, but ithe depends on the party finders on your server. I've networked with good players on mine and got myself into a good farm group in addition to my regular static. And as someone else mentioned, the Horde weapons have materia slots.PotD is better for people like myself who missed the window for NidEX learning partiesIf I wasn't almost done with a 230 anima, that would definitely be my best choice for a decent weapon as a returning player. To answer a few questions that have been asked
1: The weapon you receive is based on the class you are on when you talk to the NPC, you can obtain a weapon for any job no matter if you went in deep dungeon with it or not.
2: It is repeatable, after you choose a weapon your Aetherpool Arm and Aetherpool Armor are both reset to 0 inside the Deep Dungeon.
3: No, It looks like the stats are the same even though it is a green weapon, I compared it to a horde weapon and the sub-stats/main-stat were nearly identical.
Just gonna keep bein' awesome.
Lone Wolf of WB =^-^=

The aetherstats is not restricted to jobs/classes. It's based on your progression only. I believe because of that you can select any weapon once you reach +30 regardless of what class you chose to grind with. (i.e. If I went in there as a paladin and got +30 for arm and armor, I can use it to get a Warrior weapon)
