Well we are still in the EU for the time being until article 50 has not only been triggered but also concluded plus we are still one of the biggest economies in the EU so it is not that ironic to me. Maybe there is a silver lining for other EU regions in that SE might not inflict this really bad deal on their promotions too. Hopefully SE will learn from this huge thread complaining about it and the other EU ones are better, simpler and without massive stock/supply issues unlike the the UK one.
EU is a standard abbreviation for the region of Europe, not just the nations of the European Union.
